Show I APRIL 13, 1970 OIL ft MINING JOURNAL 000 feooF 'RICHARD BLACKBURN a Dear Mr. Blackburn: Your column has had several articles about the potential of silver stocks. Now-a-day- s it seems like I seldom have a coin in my pocket that is really silver. Is the government melting these coins or are collectors hoarding silver coins? Milt Barrows. Dear Mr. Barrows: collectors are accumulating silver coins the biggest drain is from the government that is melting the silver coins they obtain. Collectors are mainly interested in the uncirculated coins so the numbers in this catagory are small. You might find of interest a chart aht was recently released. Thos readers in the Silver State of Nevada will have particular interest. The chart is reproduced on this page. , While Dear Mr. Blackburn: saved a little. I get a raise every year under my union contract. But Im a little worried about my financial future. Where will I be in 25 years? Will our government take care of me? How much should I save? Can you give me any anwers. NET COINAGE SILVER Im forty. IVe Clarence Spillman. Dear Mr. Spillman: Maybe you union mil have a retirement plan. Maybe the taxpayers will contine to support the unemployed. But what if they dont? Better that you start saving 10 of everything you earn right now. Pay yourself first, as the old saying goes. Better clip the following out and paste it up somewhere so that you will be constantly reminded to save. Government statistics show that youll be broke at 65! The facts are that of every 100 who reach age 65 in the United States, 84 are broke, 8 are close to it, 6 are comfortable and 2 are well off. WHERE WILL YOU BE? Why do some people seem to have more each year and others never seem to get their bills paid off? Why? Because: "Its not how much you aim that is important...its what you save that counts!" If you want to accumulate money, then learn the very simple rule of saving: "PA Y YOURSELF FIRST" Each time you get a paycheck make the first check payable to your savings paln...then pay your rent, utilities, food, gas, etc. Ask yourself: "If I put away as much in the next 10 years as I have in the last 10 year, will I be satisfied?
