One hundred eighty-nin- e yean apart yet during this Christmas season a similarity exists. American soldiers .are again fighting and dying to preserve the rights and dignity of man and to insure that free men will remain free. A different century, a different enemy, but the cause is the same and the cause is just. It is sometimes difficult to understand why we must sacrifice so much for people in for away lands, but with our beliefs there is no other way. Our' policies, stated or implied, the mission of our country, our government, and our aimed forces very dear. If we must fight to remain five, then fight we will. There is no other way. Amidst the turmoil, strife and sorrow of war there is a ray of hope. It is the devotion and dedication of Americans like you, military and dvilian, to the job at hand. As we thank Cod for our blessings let us ell resolve to do just a little bit more, just a little Mt better so that no Americans will die needlessly, fighting to preserve freedom for all. To you, fellow Americans, comrades in .aims, to all members of the U. S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, I extend greetings for a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Happy New Year. L. C.
