Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, October 26, 1967 LYKNDYL Nathan LaRue received word last Thursday of the death of his brother, bro-ther, Cecil, in Missouri. Cecil lived In Leamington with Mr. and Mrs. Nathan LaRue several years ago. Another brother, Clyde, his wife, and son drove here from Calif., then went on to Missouri with Nathan. Cecil Is survived by his wife, son, mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs Delbert George and several brothers broth-ers and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bradfield and Mrs. Carl Benson went to Salt Lake Friday Fri-day to a Union Pacific Rail Road Foreman's meeting and banquet. Laura Bradfield and daughter, La Wrene went to Provo Thursday to keep a doctors ppointment for La Wrene. Mr. Odvin Rosquist of Fountain Green is visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs, Keith Nielson. Paula Hann of Murray is spend ing the week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson. Carrol Denetsosie stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield Brad-field in Leamington with their foster fos-ter daughter Rose Johnson. Saturday Satur-day the girls went to Fillmore with Mrs. Bradfield. Delbert George, Jr. of Arkansas visited at the Nathan LaRue home Sunday. This past weekend found the town deserted as far as the male sex was concerned. They all went to the hills after the deer. Some returned home successful, while others are waiting till next week end, hoping to be lucky. At the Lawrence Bradfield home over the weekend was Rose Bradfield, Brad-field, Paul and Bryce of Grantsville and Rayma Hughes of Salt Lake. We had a good visit with the men in the hills. Lawrene went back to Salt Lake with Rayma Sunday and returned home by train Monday. Elder Steven Nielson of Leamington, Leam-ington, a returned missionary, gave his mission report in church Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson spent Monday in Provo. Sandra Benson, Phyllis Nielson, and Valerie Tolbert went to Provo Monday. the girls stayed home with their grandmother, Nell Sorenson. Dr. and Mrs. Harry Valentine of Monrovia, Calif., have been visitors and been hunting In Utah with the Lyle Bunker family. They came Thursday and are still visiting at the Bunker home. Elder Gary Bunker has Just returned re-turned Wednerday, from his mission in the New England States. He en-Joyed en-Joyed the deer hunt with his bro thers and father this year. Garry is the son of Lyle and lorna Bunker Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Bunker and son, Brian, were visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker and family. Gayle is attending BYU this school year. Mrs. Verdella Adams and Gloria and Joan visited with Carol Adams in Provo Monday. Bishop and Mrs. Norman Gardner spent Monday In Salt Lake City. Steven Stoddard, student at CSU, was home for the deer hunt. S.O., Steven and Rulon Jones have been hunting in the "high Uintahs." Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber visit ed up north over the weekend and attended a banquet at the New-house New-house Hotel (see related story elsewhere). else-where). Misses Nancy and Carolyn Bingham Bing-ham and their mother, Mrs. Ramo-na Ramo-na Bingham of Smithfield spent the weekend in Delta with Paul Losee and the Cecil Losee family. They all attended church Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Gam Brown and children of Salt Lake visited with Mrs. Lemira Bishop during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Losee of Salt Lake visited with the Cecil Losee family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robison and all of Paul's brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rohison and family, Debra and Michael of Deita; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robison and family of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Robison and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Robison of Salt Lake were all on hand at the Salt Lake Air Port last Thursday to moot Paul, who returned from Viet Nam on n 20 day leave with his parents in Delta. He will report the middle of Nov. to Eltoro, Calif, for further orders. Mr. and Mrs. Gil Sorenson and daughters, Laurie Ann, Shannon and Wendy, of Tnylorsville spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bort Sorenson. Saturday Satur-day they went deer hunting and The town was about deserted Saturday, or as you may say, "the women ruled," as the men had all taken to the hills. Seems there are so many leaves on the bushes that the deer are quite safe. At least they aren't coming out as fast as usual. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot were Salt Lake visitors last Wednesday. Miss Sharon Stuart and a friend, Frecisa, of Chili, S. A., visited from Utah Technical College of Provo with Sharon's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stuart and family. Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Anderson and Mrs. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker went to Loa and Capitol Reef Mon ument Wednesday to do some fish ing. It turned out not many fish but lots of sight seeing. The Walkers Wal-kers returned home for the deer hunt but Ruth and Don stayed a Loa to past week to hunt with Don, Jr. Mr. J. LeRoy Walker and son, Larry were here to hunt with LeRoy. They were among the lucky ones and had one back by eight o'clock Saturday morning. 2nd Lt. and Mrs. Quayle Dutson are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson before leaving' for a two-year tour of duty at the Panama Canal Zone. Misses Dixie and Mayvonne Dutson and Wilna Wixom were also here to visit their folks and Quayle and Virginia before be-fore they leave. Mayvonne will stay the week but Dixie returned to school. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Christensen and children spent a few days of last week in Calif. They brought home another little new baby boy to join the family. Congratulations Blaine and Ranae. Mrs. Rebecca Pratt and Mrs. Ila Jacobson spent the day Wednesday in Salt Lake to visit Ciyde and Muriel. Mu-riel. Mr. and Mrs. Pratt and LaRita were in Salt Lake again on Saturday Satur-day and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milan Mi-lan Jacobson were In Salt Lake Saturday and Sunday to see Muriel off for the California mission. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nielson and Twiss were Salt Lake visitors Wed nesday and Thursday for Ivan's checkup. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson and family of Provo visited Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson Saturday and Sunday Bishop and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson had Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith and baby of Phoenix and Sylvia home to spend the weekend. A sock and hankie shower was held at the Lyman Finlinson home Saturday evening in honor of Larry Taylor. He received many useful gifts and a good time was had by all present. Misses Sylvia Finlinson and Pat Taylor were the hostesses. Miss Vclma Harvey of Salt Lake was a weekend guest of her sister, Mrs. Dean Anderson. Bishop and Fred and Gordon Anderson were m Tropic for a few days for the deer hunt. Hope they have a successful hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bradbury and children of Salt Lake and Cecil Jacobson of Salt Lake visited their father, Thurlo and Bertha for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Taylor and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roper and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Jeffery of Delta attended Sacrament meeting mee-ting in the ward Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Johnson of Leamington, Kay and Jean Stone of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Karl What-cott What-cott and children of Beaver and Paul and Reece Johnson of Provo visited at the Burnis Finlinson home especially to see Lynn and attended Sacrament meeting. Mr. Stewart Taylor and Larry and Mr. Burnis Finlinson and Lynn and Paul Finlinson were speakers at meeting and a special musical number, "I'll Walk With God," was sung by Paul Anderson accompanied by Af-ton Af-ton Dutson. Miss Jewel Jacobson of Cedar visited her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Mai-ben Mai-ben J'cobson over the weekend. Jewel attends CSU. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Dutson and children of Salt Lake and Merton Lovell of St. George are visiting for the hunting season. Mr. ' LeRoy Anderson celebrated his birthday Sunday with a family dinner. There were twenty-two present, pre-sent, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wright of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson Ander-son and family of Oak City, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Call of Ogden and Shirley of Uinta and their children also Arlene Heckert and friend, Diane Larsen of Ogden and Ronald Anderson of Santa Barbara, Calif. Mr. Allen Lovell and two sons, Douglas and David and Kenneth Lovell and wife and two children visited at the home of Peter Nielson over the weekend. The men hunted deer Saturday. Clark and Reva BBliss drove to Payson Sunday and In company with Stan and Ruth Bliss went to Salt Lake to see their uncle, Alfred Bliss, who has been ill for two years Reva said they passed million deer hunters on the way home and half that many dead deer. Miss Jill Johnson and roommate Evelyn Clark of Ariz, were with the Garland Johnsons over the weekend from CSU. Mr. Clark Draper of Price come out to see Garland and Phyllis John son over the weekend. Ho is well and fine. Mrs. Cleone Tolbert had a very bad reaction Saurday from a bee sting and isn't a bit good yet. Ihad two sting me the same day but all mine did was swell up and itch. Oh these bees! Chester and Elladene Corbett and all their sons-in-law went out to the hills. The Hoelzlies got their deer up toward Eureka. People said there were no deer in the hills but every one I know seems to be getting their share, that I've heard of. Alma Johnson of Provo drove noon. Mr. and Mrs. Clisbee Lovell and son, Brent, and friend of Clinton . were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell Saturday. i Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vaudry and three children of Draper and Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Alldredge, Lora and Bradley of Ogden called on LeRoy Anderson Sunday to wish him birth day greetings. Mr. and Mrs. (Arvilla) Buchanan and sons of Salt Lake visited Satur day and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Jacobson. Paul Anderson of Ogden and Mrs. Avis Stephenson and children of Salt Lake visited their mother, Ma-eel Ma-eel Anderson over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Delynn Nielson and children of Granger were weekend visitors of Mrs. Twiss Nielson. Lola and Walter Stoneking tend ed their little grandson, Kerry, Chuck and Helen Marie Thayer's baby while they hunted deer. Lola and Walter Stoneking went to Salt Lake Monday, Walter to go thru the clinic and Lola to check with her doctor. Miss Diane Petersen spent a few days in Wilcox, Ariz, with her folks the Earl Petersens. She has return ed to Salt Lake to attend school. Ermn and Clifferd Petersen were happily surprised to have Clifferd's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Soren-sen Soren-sen of Spring City visit them Wed nesday and Thursday. Then Kay Petersen visited them Sunday. The Harold Petersen family and Mr. Allen Petersen and wife, Carmen Car-men and baby girl had a family dinner at the Clifferd Petersen home Sunday. Allen Is in the Army and has been to Vietnam. After his furlough he will be in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. His wife will, at present, be with her folks in Gardnen City, Utah. Merril Petersen and wife, Dianna, and living In Salt Lake and Merril Is working with Warren drilling at Kennicott. Merril took Charleen's three children home. They have been with their grandmother, Erma for a week or so. Tlllltn WARII AREA NEWS BEA WILLDEN Coming to Utah for the deer hunt and visiting were Mr. and Mrs. El mer Parrish of Oakdale, Calif, and their son, Mr. Robert Parrish of Chowchilla, Calif. Mrs. Al Willden, Mrs. Elmer Parrish Par-rish and Mrs. Keith Ross took Mr. Wilford McClellan to Logan Satur day to attend funeral services for Mr. McClellan's 92 year old brother, Prof. Charles E. McClellan. Prof. McClellan was emeritus of education educa-tion of the Utah State University staff. A position he held for some 30 years. We also visited in Salt Lake with Mrs. Wes Dutson and girls. Mr. Wes Dutson and hunting par ty met with a near tragic accident at Dutch John when they attempted attemp-ted to cross the Green River in a (n,.u,i,nui riHvo truck. They be came bogged down and the truck submerged. They managed to escape es-cape and swim to shore. They're now trying to retrieve the truck. Visiting with the E. L. Moody's for the deer hunt were their son, Kenneth, wife and baby, Mork, of Provo. Mr. Richard Y. Moody received his master's degree at the USU in psychological research and is now working for a private firm in Anna dale, Virginia. Elder Ralph Moody has been transferred to Greensville, Dele. Paul Moody is still on the front lines in Viet Nam and it was his company that was ambushed last week. Mrs. Hugh Ivie came home from Yermo, Calif. Her son and wife, June and Nelda came from Ely for the deer hunt.
