The article, "Two Hoodlums," Hood-lums," was about the moBt bungling piece of literary work that has ever appeared in any Utah paper; its nuthor should be prosecuted for murdering the English language as he did, if for nothing else. Gash returned today on the R. G. W. No. 1 from his eastern trip. While away the colonel spent a couple of da$ s in Rochester, New York, a couple of days in Buffalo, Naw York, one in Chicago, Illinois, and two weeks at his old home, La Plata, Missouri. "Abe" reports having had a splendid trip and returns home feeling well. Asked as to what the people east think of Utah's wonderful constitutional convention con-vention and the work it is doing, he replied: "Never heard a man or woman wo-man mention it ODce." This indeed was a stunner. Continuing the conversation conver-sation the silver question was soon touched upon, as a matter of course. In New York," said Colonel Gash, me majority oi people wnom i. met didn't want to talk silver at all, They said I had wheels in my head when-eyer when-eyer 1 spoke up in favor of the whita metal, and they seem to think every man who hails from the west is a lunatic because no man comes from the west into New York who does not talk silver and bimetallism. The New Yorkers all say, that ia those of them whom I met, that Cleveland's administration is just the administration administra-tion the nation has needed for years and years is just the ideal administration. Coming a little farther west, howeyer, you meet a perfect stream of Colonel Harvev's little book, 'Coin's Financial Finan-cial School,' and the sentiment chances. In Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri the silver sentiment is growing grow-ing rapidly and is already very strong. It wont be long till the ray of light, truth and reason concerning silver reaches New York and crowds some eense into the craniums the people of the Empire State."
