But do you know that according to all statistics in all fields normal times describes a condition that has not existed since 1914 and is not likely to exist in the lifetime of anyone now living. Believe it or not, only about half the people can lecall conditions before 1914 and only 30 percent recall the depression years from 1929 to 1934. PEOPLE INTERESTED IN FORMING LOCAL RIDING CLUB ly Painful Process of Progressing We pointed out some time ago that we would have growing pains. Any town or city will have them if they are to progress, and the new water system for Magna proves this point. Anything worth while will have its share of blood, sweat and tears to borrow a phrase. 1 think it is a good sign. I think it proves that we are trying to work and live and grow together. If we did not have these differences and everyone was completely satisfied and happy, we should be alarmed, for it would tend to show signs of a creeping paralysis that so often kills small towns. We are fighting our way out of this paralysis now, and if we succeed, we will plan and look ahead logically and sensibly to the future and be able to cope with more growing pains as they come up. It is either keep fighting for our town and projects, or stop being concerned about the rest of the fast moving world and be swallowed up by competition. A petition bearing approximately nine hundred signatures of people interested in forming a riding club under the sponsorship of Kennecott Copper Corporation, has been presented to Mr. P. H. Ensign, general superintendent of Kennjcott mills. This club would be organized similar to the Fish and Duck, golf, Copper and Community Recreational Association clubs. The Magna Mount Riders, who will dissolve their organization and affiliate with the new club, have approved the plan. Petitioners of the club, headed by P. H.
