Show SOLEMN SERVICES HELD r OR MED W 14 by funeral of mrs lydia margaret Marga rei mccarty held in monroe chapel last sunday mrs mr lydia margaret mccarty formerly an honored li nored resident of monroe died in salt lake city last friday at the home hoine of one of her ber daughters mrs airs 11 A parley farley she was the relict of the late james mccarty a pioneer resident of monroe well and favorably remembered by many people in the sevier valley the body was ship to monroe for interment in pursuance to her last request and the funeral occurred sunday afternoon in the south ward chapel it was largely attended the music was by the ward choir and the casket was draped with beautiful flowers the speakers were elder heber J grant W A warnock rev E J hanks and jacob Mak magleby leby A beau beautiful ticul solo face to face was sung by mrs garn dark clark of panguitch mrs mccarty casborn was born in eagle village Ind January 23 25 1838 she came to salt lake city with her parents james and eleanor lane Crag there oct 29 1849 in captain E T bensons company after having walked with other y young oung companions the entire dis tance from missouri to salt lake valley the family remained there a short time later going to monroe where miss cragun as she was then named became the wife of james H mccarty on octobers October 5 1855 she is survived by six of twelve children who are judge Will william iain M mccarty of salt lake city homer mccarty of richfield norman F mccarty of parkville Par kville mo edgar C mccarty of bin bingham aham mrs airs jos jo Ber bertelsen telden of marysvale Marys vale and mrs R A faney fabey of salt lake city cheis survived also by three airee sisters and one brother who are james H cragun of st george mrs M E pratt of salt lake mrs sarah J garth wait of idaho andrii and mrs s martha cox cai of richfield sl r SS |
