Lindon Students Quarters Give Shoes for Needy The school offered thanks to all who participated par-ticipated as well as thanks to Bruce Wathen, creator of the gingerbread house and Marilyn Bufkin, teacher responsible 'for the drive. Quarters for Christmas Christ-mas was a great success suc-cess at Lindon Elementary Elemen-tary school this year. A check for $166.87 was sent to KSL for shoes for those in need. The school chooses one endeavor of this type annually to give the students an opportunity oppor-tunity to help others. From the many varied worthy causes, "Quarters for Christmas Christ-mas was selected. The attributes of this program is the absence of overhead costs and also the immediate direct help the money is used for. We know that all the money collected would be spend on shoes for needy children in our area. Shawn Moosman, a fifth grade student at Lindon won a gingerbread ginger-bread house with all the trimmings. Each student who contributed con-tributed had their name placed in a box and the winner was drawn by lot. |
