Ho omlgrated to America In tho year 18C9 and soon came to Utah whoro ho has lived tho greater part of the time. His principal occupation was hording shoop for various parties. In politics ho was an ardent supporter of the Republican party prizing his cltlzonshlp very highly, nnd for yoars and years was found on oloctlon day delivering his ballot 'at the polos though many tlmos having to como long distances to do so. He was a mombor of tho Odd Follows lodgo nnd so familiar was ho that ho occupied ovory chair in ita organization. In tho year 1904 ho married Sarah Burgln of Lehl and it Is said by hor chlldron that ho was vory kind to them, thoy bolng small at tho time ot tho marrlago ot tholr mother to him. Ho was of a vory kind and affable disposition, having but tow it any, onomles.
