Woell Melvin L. Woell Takes New AFBF Director Post The appointment of Melvin L. as director of broadcast services for the American Farm Bureau Federation has been announced by Charles B. Shuman, president of the general farm orWoell ganization. Woell will begin his new duties August 15. For the past nine years Woell has been manager of the Information division of the Michigan Farm Bureau and editor of its official magazine. In his new position, he succeeds Jack Angell, recently named communications director, farm labor activities, for AFBF. In making the appintment, Shuman noted Woells years of experience in farming and as a Farm Bureau leader and broadcaster. He was elected president of the Todd County Farm Bureau (Minnesota) In 1942 and later served on the American Farm Bureau Young program for the Michigan Farm Bureau. From a one man operation, the information division has grown to include five departments 15 employees. More than and 50 Michigan radio stations now carry regular Farm Bureau broadcasts and the addition of professional equipment has allowed a move into full color public service telecasting.
