Show 1 PLACER MINING IN IDAHO Ii i I A New York Company Orgranlxed to i Work ho Bar of Snake River An arrangement was consummated on I the 8th inst between parties of Eagle Rock Idaho and New York capitalists I by which a canal for placer mining purposes pur-poses will be constructed to convey water on to the auriferous gravel bars of Snake I river that amounts to considerable 5m portance to this community It is uoth I I ing more nor less than a stipulation be tween the said New Yorkers and Cass jl Turner to bring on to tho bars situated on the north side of Snake River 20000 inches of water exclusively for mining f purposes The conditions are time ex I change of placer lands for water and vice i i versa The water is to be on the ground I by the first of April 188G and operations I I in mining are to commence in earnest in I our midst on that date We have the assurance that the papers were signed sealed and delivered about 0 oclock in the morning amidst much eclat with all parties satisfied I While we are not a placer miner or five much thought to such business it in i I gratifying to know that schemes of such vast importance to our community are transpiring in our midst The assurances II arc that operations on the contract abovementioned above-mentioned will commence by about the I IOth inst and bo completed on the date specified Time New York gentlemen contracting have large interests on the river below in such lands and are also experts in the peculiar eccentricities of gold and gravel depositions on tho river and are masters of the saving process We are not bashful in giving the names of the contracting parties One is Donald Don-ald McLean the most successful operator on the river and the other has his name mentioned above Idaho Register lltli |
