Ariz. at Lake Mr 9nH MlS RobGIt her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Howard Seiber. They returned home after vacationing for the six weeks. Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Gandy of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christensen. They came to attend the priesthood ordination of Eric Christensen on Sunday at the Kaysville 8th Powell for a week of vacationing and fishing. After leaving Lake Powell they spent time at Oribe, Ariz. and visited a niece, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Powell who run a trading post at the Hopi Reservation. They traveled on to Zuni and Apache Reservations and on into Mexico as far as Las Cruces. Mrs. George F. Snell, Attorney and Mrs. David Bean, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smuin, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olsen. Dr. Snell gave a slide lecture on his recent medical mission to Guatamala. J from serving a two year LDS mission to the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Goodson and are members of the Kaysville 4th Mr. and Mrs. William Wood and daughter Susan and son Conway and her father, James Hodson of Layton have returned from a 10 day vacation trip to California. They visited with his brother Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wood and family at Palm Springs and spent time sightseeing in the Society, was organist in her LDS Ward and acted as professional organist for the First Presbyterian Chruch in Marysville, Calif. Her services in the music field were sought by many organizations and she was kept busy playing for weddings and other functions throughout the Dunford, Willow Beach where they enjoyed a 10 day stay. At Hen- -' derson, Nev. they visited with Mexico they returned by way of Kingman, Ariz. and on to to Los Angeles, Calif, for four days where they attended the wedding of their nephew, Keith Norman. Gary Sabin returned from a combined business and pleasure trip to New York and Washington D.C. While in Washington he visited with his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sabin who is stationed there in the service. Mrs. L.L. Lake was a guest on Thursday at a bridge party at the Mansion House in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lewis returned from a five day trip to Denver, Colo, where they visited with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lewis. area. HENDERSON MRS. acquired an outstanding reputation as a teacher as well as a musician and she was devoted to her students and the school administration. with considerable emotion and regret about leaving associates whom she loved and respected and an area in which it was pleasant to live, she made the decision to come to Utah and get married and pursue her teaching career here and accept whatever musical opportunities that presented themNone-the-le- TORMA HENDERSON Students and former students of Crestview School and their parents, are invited to join the Crestview PTA and staff in honoring one of their great friends and teacher, Mrs. Torma Henderson. MRS. HENDERSON, a teacher at Crestview for 20 years, is retiring at the end of this school year. In an expression of deep appreciation for Mrs. Hendersons dedicated and devoted service the PTA and staff will sponsor an open house Wednesday, May 19th from 4:30 until 6 p.m. at the Crestview Elementary School at 185 West Golden Ave., Lay-toThe public is cordially in- vited to attend. WITH THE close of this school year, first grade teacher at Crestview School, Layton, Torma A. Hnederson retires following a very satisyears as a fying twenty-seve- n teacher. Seven years in the schools of California and the past twenty years in Davis Co. School District. Toma is a native of Cedar City, Utah, where she attended elementary, high school and began her college career at the College of Southern Utah which was then known as Branch Agricultural College, and culminated with her receiving her BS degree later at the U of U. MUSIC PLAYED a very important role throughout her career as her accomplished piano and organ skills resulted in her being appointed Ward Organist at age fourteen and piano accompanist for almost all musical productions throughout high school and college at Cedar City. AFTER A brief stint as teacher at a parochial school in Salt Lake City, she finished the year at Washington Terrace School in Ogden and the next year began her long tenure at the new Crestview School in Layton where she is now completing her twentieth year. Teaching has been a stimulating and delightful experience and although this profession presents its share of problems, Torma reports that it has been most gratifying to observe the progress and growth of her pupils, not only as they go through first grade but as they have continued on through school, many of whom are now college graduates. HENDERSON has enjoyed very much the association of her fellow teachers and the administration at Crestview School and in the District Headquarters. She is proud to have had the friendship and support of all these dedicated people. In addition to her dedication to teaching, there was a family of a husband, Emil, and five daughters and their families who received much love and attention. Civic Choir and is accompanist for innumerable soloist and singing groups. To further contribute to her busy life, she is a member of Williamsburg, Charlottsville, Fredericks- burg and Washington D.C. where they will visit many of the shrines of Revolutionary and Civil War eras. Retirement will still be a busy time and will continue to be rewarding as has been her career as a teacher.
