Supper and a program with each family having a part on it and prizes were drawn and given for the various events. Of 155 descendants 110 were present. Election was held for the office of second vice president, Ray F. Carlson of Salt Lake City was elected, Gilbert Carlson of Salt Lake City will take over as President for the next two years, Fern C. Colledge moved into first t, Mildred C. Taylor remaines as seceratary. I I ' - BRUCE PARKER AND MISS DIANE JOHNSON Diane JohnsonBruce Parker Will Wed in Lehi on Saturday Bruce and Diane have chosen Saturday, the sixth day of August to be the day of their reception. Diane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnson of Pasco, Washington, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Johnston of Lehi, Utah. Bruce is the son of Mrs. Frankie Parker and the late Fred A. Parker of Pleasant Grove. An open house will be held Saturday, August 6, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Lehi Riding Club, 289 North 500 West, Lehi, Utah. All friends and relatives are invited to attend and greet the young couple. - - il ' X l k - r i ' . 1 KAY SWENSON AND MISS DEBBIE JO PACE Debbie Joe Pace, Kay Swenson Will Marry Saturday Evening now employed with the Al-pine School District. The bride to be has chosen Miss Wendy Bezzant as the maid of honor and Miss Christi Swenson, Mrs. Bonnie Laird, Mrs. Terrie Hatch, Miss Denise Hallows and Miss Tammy Putter as the bridesmaids. The flower girls will be Michelle and Jalayne Lewis nieces of the bride elect. Mr. Swenson has chosen Greg Carson to serve as best man and Ron Pace will serve as an usher. Special guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Verl Christiansen, Lindon, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Swenson, Pleasant Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Pace, Orem., grand-parents of the couple. Pre-nupti- parties were Miss Michelle Brown and The Christiansen, Mrs. Verlene Swenson, Miss Christi Swenson, Mrs. Gary Laird, Mrs. Johyn Bills, Miss Kellie Walker, Miss Lisa Butt and Miss Michelle Brown and the American Fork Clinic. The couple plan to make their new home in Lindon, following their honeymoon to the grand Tetons in Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Pace of Pleasant Grove an-nounce the forth coming marriage of their daughter Debbie Jo to Kay Swenson son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Swenson of Lindon. The couple have selected Saturday August 6 for their wedding and reception at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center 275 East 500 South from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. All Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The bride-ele- is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and L.D.S. Seminary. While in school she was active in Pep Club, was a candidate for girls State. She served as a Junior Varsity and a Varsity Cheerleader and as a youngtime on ZCMI's fashion board, was also 1st attendant to the Homecoming queen. She graduated from The Utah Technical College and is now working at the American Fork clinic as a licenced practical nurse. Mr. Swenson graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and L.D.S. Seminary also. While in school he was active in spores, he served as a of both foodball and basketball. He attended coll-ege, at Cedar City, and is "' ' ' ' ' "" i KELLY CHRISTIANSEN AND MISS JANEALE BATTY Janeale Batty Plans Wedding With Kelly Christiansen Aug. 12 Janeale Batty will become the bride of Kelly Christiansen in a wedding ceremony to be performed Friday, August 12, 1977. Janeale is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Blaine D. Batty of Lindon, Utah. Kelly is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle L. Christiansen of Pleasant Grove, Utah. A garden reception will honor the couple the same evening at the home of the brides parents, 245 North Main Lindon, Utah, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather the reception will be held at the Lindon Ward Church, 25 North Main, Lindon, Utah. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Attending the bride will be Laurel Adams and Norma Sloan, sisters of the bride, Jan Whitley, sister of the groom, Kimberly Robinson, Kaye Ault and Rachel Christiansen. Janeale is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and is employed in Provo, Utah. Kelly is also a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and is employed in con-struction. Grove Saturday The children of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy F. Nielsen will honor their parents at an open house reception com-- i memorating their golden wedding anniversary. This event will be held Saturday August 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Myron Crystal 460 East 700 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah, friends and relatives are invited and the family requests no gifts. Ora Posey Nielsen was born Dec. 20, 1907, at Basin, Idaho a daughter of Albert W. and Mary Ann Posey. She went to school in Basin and Burley, Idaho. Mrs. Nielsen worked in Relief Society, Primary and Mutual. She has been active in politics, having served as vice chairlady of the Democratic party and also judge of city, state and federal elections. The Nielsens have two children living; a daughter, Mrs. Myron Crystal (Una) of Pleasant Grove and Lamar Nielsen, of Stanton Cal. They lost their first baby at the age of two and a son Odell was killed in a truck accedent when he was twenty eight, leaving a wife and three children. Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen have eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The Nielsens were married in Idaho, Aug. 3, 1927. They moved to Murray, Utah then out to Mercur before coming to American Fork in 1940, where they have resided ever since. LeRoy Nielsen was born March 3, 1909, in Pleasant Grove Utah to Niels and Hannah Thornton Nielsen. He went to school in Pleasant Grove, Utah; also in Declo, Idaho, where he met and married Ora Posey of Burley. He worked in the gold mills at Mercur and a number of construction jobs around the state as a welder and mechanic. He operated a gold mill in South Pass City, Wyo. for a year and in 1931 he ran a dairy farm in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. Later he worked for Utah Const. Co at Wanship Dam and Bingham Canyon. He also put in two years for Morrison Knudsen Co. and was with Strong Const. Co Springville, Utah, for five years. His last three working years were spent as a mechanic with Crystal Trucking Co of Salt Lake City. Mr. Nielsen retired from work at the age of sixty two. Four Stake Dance Set by Young Adults for Friday, Timp Stake All young adults of Lehi, American Fork, Alpine, and Pleasant Grove are invited to come to a dance Friday evening at 8:30 It will be held in the Timpanogas Stake Center and the group "London Bridge" will bes playing. Refreshments will be served so everyone come and have a great time. The cost; will be $1.50 a person. Lindon Lighter Tops Club Makes Record In Losing Weight During the las 2 months the Lindon Lighter Tops Club has made quite a record. The total weight loss was 91'2 lbs.
