Staker Leader Thomas Christensen presented the Master awards to Gordon Sorensen and Kent Strate, both of Spring City, while Stake Leader Ila Jensen presented the Golden Gleaner awards to Mrs. Gordon Sorensen. Mrs. Kent Strate, both of Spring Mt. City, Mrs. Marjorie Adair, Pleasant Third ward, and Miss LaPrele Mellor, Fairview. Gordon and Ethel Sorensen were married June 22, 1948 in the Manti Temple. They have four children, Jerry 6, Karen 4, and twins, Eugene and Eugena, 3 months. Gordon has been Explorer leader and is now a member of the 240th Quoum of Seventies, and is a ward teacher in the Spring City ward. Ethel is a counselor in the Spring City ward Relief Society. Both have been active in and Gleaner class and the have done much temple work. Kent and Herta Strate were married in the Salt Lake Temple, June 5, 1951. They have three and children, Jean 3, David 2, Mehl Ree 1. Kent has been a member of the L D S Church only six years. He has served as Deacon advisor, Priest advisor, Explorer leader, Sunday School and ward teacher, and is second counselor in the Second Quorum of Elders presidency. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, was a farmer and stock raiser and a veteran of World War I. Mary Elizabeth Peterson Mower was born in Murray November, 18, 1874, a daughter of James A. Rnd Sarah Ann Brown Peterson. The family moved to Fairvie when she was nine years old and she had made her home there since that time. August 17, 1893 she was married to Jordan H. Mower at Manti, with the marriage later being solemnized in Manti LDS tenw pie.
