According to information given out by city officials the Lehi Municipal Power Plant is producing power on which an income equivalent to ten mills, on the present valuation of Lehi City, is realized. This sum, instead of going into the city treasury, goes to those people who installed the present municipal power plant, and will continue in that direction until the plant is paid for. If the people of Lehi would forsee the advantages of this plant, a few years hence, after paid for, they would realize that wth every ad ditional subscriber to municipal power the lower will be the tax levy on Lehi property. And the quicker citizens do realize this, and subscribe for municipally produced power, the quicker will the local unit be paid for and the revenues pouring into the city treasury, lowered the local tax ation by from 50 pecent to 80 percent. That this is no wild flight of the imagination one needs but point to Brigham City, Utah, where the muni cipal plant in that city, of about 3,000 people, paid for all city functions and left a neat balance of $3,000 in the city treasury. Surely, with this type of a benefit facing us, and with the virtual guarantee of as good service now as any local competitor can give, people of Lehi should think of their pocket book, their citizenship and their obligations and patronize home pro duced and home owned power.
