At the home of Val Thompson Thomp-son this week was his wife Dorothy , who works out of town, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson of Milford and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn. Black-burn. They all enjoyed Sunday Sun-day dinner. Sunday evening Sacrament meeting was held with Richard Rich-ard Albrecht conducting. Music was furnished by Shirley Shir-ley Hollingshead and Eleanor Marshall. Speakers were Chad and Valerie Hollingshead. Hollings-head. Colleen Truman and Linley Dalton gave a piano solo. Jim Craw met with an accident ac-cident at his dairy barn while working on a piece of machinery. ma-chinery. He got a piece of steel in his eye and they had to take him to Provo for surgery. Monday night at the Newell New-ell Carter home allof Vera's brothers and sisters were there to help her celebrate her birthday, which was on Sunday. Happy birthday, Vera! Minersville Auxiliary held their monthly meeting at the Legion room. President Wil- Lisa Eyre, who is working in Provo, was home to spend ; her days off with her family, j Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eyre. I Lee Marshall flew to Den ver to attend a dairy meeting. meet-ing. He also attended the races whle he was there. Randy Marshall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Marshall, Mar-shall, met with an accident the other night. He was playing play-ing with a broken arrow and fell on it. It went into his mouth and just missed cutting cut-ting off his tonsil. There are two new dairy barns going up in town. One belongs to Lee, Kent and Hayward Marshall (brothers) (broth-ers) , and the other one to the Wayne Gillins family. Lola Bonn has returned home after spending a week in Las Vegas with her family. fam-ily. Colleen and Doug Farnow stopped in to see her mother, moth-er, Nettie, enroute to their cabin in the Beaver Mountains. Moun-tains. On their way back home they stayed overnight at her home. Mrs. Jessie Hull and son Bob visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thompson last ma Davis conducted. After the business was taken care of they made a baby quilt to be sent to the Primary Childrens Hospital. Guests were Mildred Martin and Beaulah Wood, who came to help crochet house slippers slip-pers for the Veterans at the Veterans Hospital. Those in attendance were Wilma Davis, Da-vis, Elma Blackburn, Phyllis Phyl-lis 'Truman, Shirley Hollingshead, Hol-lingshead, Pauline Wood, -Reva Williams, Marie Mar-jshall, Mar-jshall, Effie Marshall, Freida (Wood, Virgene Jameson, (Mildred Martin and Beulah I Wood. Hope more will at -i tend next month. Minersville Relief Society ' was a busy place Wednesday morning. The Stake Relief Soceity was holding a Fair. It was really a success; one person said it was nearly as big as the County Fair. There certainly is a lot of talent in our county. Virginia Marshall was in charge and her efforts were certainly appreciated. Those in the Milford hospital hos-pital the last week have been Aletha Gillins, June Pearson Pear-son and Alba Carter. Hope they will soon all be well and home again. Allen Davis had a birthday birth-day and party on Oct. 9th. He had all his friends in school help his celebrate it. Happy birthday, Allen. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Larson Lar-son and family from Salt Lake were weekend visitors at the Karl Truman home. Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Pi-oneers meeting was held at the home of Carol Lemon. Marybeth Bailey gave the lesson, "Year of 1977". Those present were Madge Carter, Virgene Jameson, Pauline Wood, Effie Jameson, Jame-son, Marybeth Bailey, and Carol Lemon. After the meeting, Carol served refreshments. re-freshments. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Limb traveled to Salt Lake City to go to UEA. They enjoyed en-joyed it very much. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Limb visited their family, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Limb, in Vernal over the long holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder from Hatch stopped in Minersville Min-ersville and picked up their daughter, Marybeth Bailey, and went out by Baker, Nev. to pick pine nuts. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood traveled to Kearns to attend the wedding of their grandson, grand-son, Ronald W. Wood and Cindy Gines. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, Oct. 8th. The wedding wed-ding group enjoyed dinner at the Chuck-a-Rama afterwards. after-wards. Following was a reception re-ception in the 15th Ward at Kearns. Monday, Oct. 10th, Grant Wood and his son Cory stopped enroute to Phoenix, Arizona where Cory will be employed in a diamond store. Mr. ,and Mrs. Kay Cum-mings Cum-mings from CedarCity spent Monday evening visiting Dean's mother, Mrs. Shirley Hollingshead. Mr. and Mrs. Van Davis announce the marriage of their daughter, Darlene, to West Christianson from Ne-phi, Ne-phi, Utah. Mrs. Debbie Smith from Nephi visited her sister, Mrs. Molly Taylor and family, fam-ily, over the weekend. |
