from 0 street to the county road fifth street from J street to I 1 street sixth street from P street to I 1 street I 1 street from fourth street to seventh street referred to the committee on streets and alleys from juilee J D jones and selectman A D holdaway that the city council appoint a committee to confer with the county court in relation to alie draining of the county road extending east from alie river bridge to james yorks thence south to provo city a portion of said road being in provo city referred to committee on streets and alleys REPORT OP committees E C henrichsen chairman of the committee on finance reported that the treasurers treasur ers report had been examined aEd found to bs correct report accepted E C henrichsen chairman of the committee on public grounds and city property that arrangements had been made with the probate judge for the use of the room and present occupied by tho county recorder as a marshals office and a justices court room as soon as it should be vacated the committee recommended that the marshal be authorized to fit up said room according to the requirements ot the office report accepted and recommendation men dation adopted the committee on streets and alleys ro ported as follows your committee on streets and alleys to whom wag referred the petition of myron tanner and others asking that an electric light afi placed at the intersection of E and eleventh streets report that wo have considered the same and believe that it would be just to the petitioners petition ers to place said lights as asked for but in our opinion the present revonne of the city is insufficient to justify an increase in our street lights at the present time we therefore respectfully recommend that the petition he not granted L S GLAZIER chairman mr M uben explained that the committee had reported aa they had rather reluctantly tho petition was extensively signed and the lights be placed there but the revenue of the city was rather limited they had considered it best to report in this way and if the sen timeS of the council was against it the report could be amended mr dixon agreed with mr maiben as to the limited amount of money but lie did not think it was more limited now than when lights were ordered to be placed in the eastern part of the city liddiard henrichsen and dunn spoke in a similar strain mr maiben moved to amend the report by striking out the words but in our opinion the present revenue of the city is insufficient to justify an increase in our street lights at the present time and also the word not
