Show ILE isabella nell neil king born sept 7 1830 at estate northfield scotland and died jan 29 1927 at fill fellmore ore utah at the age ot of 96 the deceased was a truly religious woman at the ago age of 12 she became a member of the church of england she was converted to the mormon religion in 1855 being baptized on the night ot of april ath she then remained in the old countey lust just long enough to earn her emigration money amounting to twenty pounds which she placed in the perpetual immigration fund she left liverpool in may 1857 traveling continually until she reached the missouri river where she remained at kansas city for three weeks while the saints were building more hand band carts she crossed the plains that summer and tall fall walking the entire distance except when she was car across two rivers on captain murdocks horse the company arrived in salt lake in the middle ot of sept and she was married to james king who also crossed the plains in the same company with her on sept they remained in salt lake that winter and came as tar far south as provo with the general exodus the following may 1858 their oldest child isabella isabelia was born there the next year they moved to fairfield where they were blessed with three more children later they moved to deseret where they lived for four our years coming to fillmore may 8 1868 her husband preceded her to the grave by many years for the past 14 years ot of her life she has resided most moat ot of the time with her daughter mrs isabella rogers making short visits to escalante where her son john has his home the deceased was survived by two daughters ellen lyman ot of logan dale nev isabella rogers ot of fillmore and two sons andrew king of vernal utah and john king of Esca escalante Iante funeral services were held monday jan 3 31 1 at 2 in the treava avalon theatre building the speakers were T dark clark callister edw peterson and don C wixom sister king as she was familiarly called was devoted to her religion to the very last it was said ot of her that she was born religious though she suffered many hardships and trials coming here in the early days as she did she never referred to her experiences as such but always said it was a pleasure to make such sacrifices tor for her religion though she lett left tive five brothers and sisters in scotland nd whom she never saw again she never complained of the iolli ness that it must have caused her she corresponded with her loved ones as long as she was able to deriving some pleasure in this way |
