Show commendable activities OF OUR commercial CLUB in the news colu columns of this weeks issue we ate aie publishing the sec secre Ys report of the activities of the richfield commercial club during the year 1927 and after peru perusing ing it carefully we can safely state that good work was done clone in the past year and that the commercial club is most worthy of the support of all our people the secretary subdivided his report according cordi cording fig to the activities of the several committees and states in regard to the industries that the club advocated and promoted increase in our poultry industry which worked out to thin the full satisfaction of the poultry growers Regard regarding inz the dairy industry the report refers to the acquisition of our cheese factory by the sego milk products company there is hardly a doubt that our dairy industry will be given considerable extension and rez re dewed impetus by reason of the sego company coming to this pait of the country another commendable activity of the club was the cooperation with our postmaster in installing the free city delivery the legislative committee was instrumental in bringing about a bill by which the state legislature ought to designate the state road commission as the proper source of information for road matters and thereby counteract the unfriendly attitude which that certain bill rishel manager of the utah state automobile association has towards our part of the country the road program of the club wai wa consistently and efficiently taken care of by the road committee and there is a chance although althony h a remote one that the forest authorities can be prevailed upon to build the salina canyon road the report mentions also the friendly relations the richfield commercial club entertained with the civic organizations of the neighboring cities and counties and we fully agree with the secretary when he be says that no organization in the south bears a more enviable reputation for cooperation and accomplishments than does the tha richfield commercial club thanks are due to the amusement committee for assisting the club in raising the funds necessary to continue its activities which was absolutely necessary for the reason that the club in the fie past year had only 52 members and the revenue from this source therefore was comparatively small the membership committee expects to bring up the membership to the mark the secretary finally makes final recommendations which when followed will make the club still more efficient and beneficial in the years to follow |
