Used to be when someone got around to retiring, they were too old to do anything more vigorous than tend the roses. Now I know people who retire from one job, get bored and go into a new career. If they dont go into a new career, they decide to move into a condominium and travel. Or they go into new church jobs or civic jobs and work as hard as volunteers as they ever worked for money. Its probably the result of giving people all this freedom. In other times and other places, peoples lives were quire circumscribed as to where they lived and how they earned their livelihood. Then we gave them their druthers, and they take advantage of the opportunity to move or change or go or be something different. People change jobs. There are as many reasons for moving on as there are people doing it, but whatever the reason, most people dont stay.
