Dunn, professor of forestry. . Four new seed beds were added to the forestry nursery, and the supply of trees waa increased to 153,000, of this number 120,000 will be available for planting by spring, professor J. Whitney Floyd, extension forester, said. The sale of trees from the nursery has increased steadily since 1930. when 15,845 trees were sold, until 1936, when the total number sold was 85,522, except in 1934, when there was a general shortage of water and the commodity price level was extremely low, professor Dunn said. The (species of trees available and listed in the new price catalouge Issued by the college, are: green just ash. catalpa, Siberian elm, black locust, honey locust, Siberian pea tree, pine, blue spruce, black walnut, and golden willow. According to Professor Floyd the most practical trees for Utah are Siberian elm, black and honey locusts, green ash, and black walnut. The conifers are not used extensively because of their extremely slow growth. The period from April 15 to May 1 is the best time to plant trees in this region Profes- -' sor Floyd said. Nevada buyers have purchased a number of trees from the college nursery since 1933. In that year 3,770 trees were shipped into Nevada, and the shipments have increased to 5 in 1936. Siberian and black locusts are the principal species purchased by Nevada buyers. A larger, sale to Nevada is expected this year, Professor Dunn said. lllk-- . liilili 4?X Wl-ili'- l they will pan le Everyday Cooking Miracles ars.
