Show Draftees Face Re-classification Throughout Utah Along with the announcement made yesterday that Cache county coun-ty will be required to furnish 20 men on January 7th., for the January call' that will tne 535 men from Utah, came Information that draftees face a recheck on thoir classification as a result of the new war situation. Officials said that the reclassifications reclassi-fications probably will affect 2500 to 3000 men who are now named in the deferrment lists, and said more miglit be affected, depending depend-ing upon the accuracy with which each local board pursues its new orders. Substance of eight provisions for reclassification of draftees, a stated in a letter from Captain J. W. Summerhays, state draft system coordinator is "as follows: 1. All authorized student defer ments will terminate with the end of the present fall quarter. Special cases will be considered. 2. Registrants employed in defense de-fense industries, who are not involved in-volved in actual production or may be replaced, should be reclassified re-classified for induction. 3. Doubtful cases, classified as 1-B by examining physicians, and which have not been referred to the induction station and rejected, reject-ed, should be ordered for reexamination reexam-ination and reclassification. 4. Recheck deferments that were I seasonal in nature and order ex-1 aminjtion and reclassification if I the original reason for deferment has ceased. 5. Each case of "newlyweds" may De reconsidered and Judged on its own merits. "In this connectoln the time when the marriage occurs oc-curs with reference to the anticipated anti-cipated induction of the man may be considered." 6. "Where there is doubt as to th classification to be given registrants deferred, their cases should be resolved in favor of the government." 7. Cases of doubtful determination determina-tion should be referred to state headquarters for recommendations. 8.
