The state, for instance, which never used to inteu'ere, constantly demands more and more of the teachers. There has been continual growth. But the greatest change has come in the children themselves. They still have the same instincts; tltey do not have the same training. There is no longer the respect for law and authority among them. There is more freedom, more independence and less obedience. They' have little respect for their parents, ami, of course, less for teachers and for those with whom they come in contact outside. |
