(t.i Jut l II 1 A, Strikes Called At Four Carbon Mines (Continued from Page One) promoting peace and of cooperating with the federal government. Mr. Knerrs plea was followed by an address by Charles Guynn, who has been in the Carbon county field as organizer of the N. M. U. He advised against the adoption of the resolution, and instead intimated that the plan of the leaders was to continue the strike and to call out other mines and picket them as those already affected have been picketed. The Knerr proposal was defeated by a decisive vote of those present. Following the strike at Spring Canyon Friday, the county officials appealed to Governor Henry H. Blood to send a portion of the national guard to the camp. The governor did not accede to the request, pointing out that the situation lies in the hands of the county officials at least until they have exhausted the resources of the county in an effort to maintain law nr- order. - |
