Dinwoodey of (Salt I-ake The Former lias Brought Suit to Recover Re-cover S3000 Damages. George Balderson and Mr. Dinwoody are two young men of irreproachable character. The former is a deputy United States mineral min-eral surveyor at Park City, and the lattrr is connected with the Dinwoody Furniture company of this city. They arrived in Salt Lake from the Park this mornine, and were somewhat surprised to see Chief of Police Paul and several of his sleuths with the patrol wagon waiting at the depot, but they were dumbfounded when the minions of the law advanced and put the handcuffs on them and placed them under arrest. No explanation was given them, and the crowd looked on with as much interest as though a Jess James had been captured. After a short time the chief took the handcuffs off the astonished citizens and let them go. To say that the victims were wrathy would be putting: it very mildly, they were fairly boiling boil-ing over with righteous indignation, and Mr. Balderson made a bee line for Judge Powers' office. The result of his visit there was that he brought suit against Chiel Paul to recover $5000 for false arrest and imprisonment, impris-onment, with Judge Powers as his attorney. Mr. Dinwoody will probably follow suit. |
