Dozens of fishing enthusiasts from the club and their kids met early on a Saturday morning in the Peterson area to provide manpower for the survey. . Reason for the sampling pro- . gram was to find out the affects of the special season on white-fis- h population. An electrical device, was used which in no way harms the fish, but by temporarily stunning them, allows a count to be made. Trout and whitefish were counted measured, and released. The suckers were taken from the river. The survey produced some very interesting results, according to Jack Way. In the Peterson area, in 177 yards of the river sampled, the following fish were counted: 160 whitefish, 1 cuthroat trout, 1 rainbow trout, 6 brown trout.
