Box Elder opened the game driving deep into Pleasant Grove territory before Hobby Weber jumped on a Box Elder fumble at the Viking 12-yard line. The turnover killed an impressive impres-sive opening drive for the Bees. The Vikings then mount- ed a nice drive of their own as they took advantage of a well-run inside screen and a . . However, a failed fourth down conversion turned the ball back to the Bees on their own 20-yard line. The Bees used up the remaining minute of the first quarter as well as the first two minutes of the second sec-ond quarter to swiftly move the ball deep into Pleasant Grove's side of the field. Again however, Box Elder was hit with the turnover bug, this time on the Viking two-yard line. Chris Clegg was in the right spot at the right time as he dropped on the ball to give possession back to the Vikings. Three minutes later, the game's momentum took a sudden and permanent swing to the Bees' sideline. Mike Sanders' pass was picked off by a Box Elder defender and returned 25 yards for the opening score of the game. The Bees added the extra point and the lead stood at 7-0. Late in the second quarter, quar-ter, Box Elder appeared stopped deep in their own territory. That was until a third down pass along the Bees' sideline was completed for a 50-yard gain. Moments later Box Elder dove into the end zone for their second score of the evening for a 14-0 14-0 advantage. Pleasant Grove used the remaining seconds of the half wisely as they moved the ball to the Bees' 20-yard line, thanks to a great pass to Kaleb Harris, who nearly outran the Box Elder defenders. The drive was killed when Box Elder came up with their second interception inter-ception of the game near the goal line. In the third quarter, the Bees only needed 15 seconds sec-onds to score their third touchdown of the game. When Pleasant Grove fumbled fum-bled the ball during their first play of the half, Box Elder quickly took advantage advan-tage and scored on their first play of the half. With the extra point, Box Elder held a commanding 21-0 lead. tine r?.! (J: A i r-M. I A Senior quarterback Mike Sanders gets off a throw during Friday's game against Box Elder. A group of Pleasant Grove Robby Weber came up with his second recovery of the game when he fell on another Box Elder fumble late in the third quarter. Again the turnover prevented prevent-ed the Bees from scoring as Pleasant Grove took over the ball on their own six-yard six-yard line. Pleasant Grove managed to move the ball to midfield before running out of downs and punting the ball back to Box Elder. Box Elder used nearly six minutes of the fourth quarter quar-ter to cap their scoring. The Bees moved the ball 75 yards in an efficient manner man-ner to cap their night. Pleasant Grove appeared to be sluggish through the second sec-ond half until their final drive of the night. The Vikings used the final three minutes of the game to move the ball 78 yards to avoid a shutout.
