Show go ago to church sunday sundays ft 9 0 X 1 by victor J nelson commander american legion post no 67 sunday feb 3 has been set apart as go to church sunday by the american lesion legion throughout the nation to encourage and urge our people to attend the church of their choice and pray to god to hasten the day of enduring peace this day marks the anniversary annive esary of the day four chaplains gave their lives when the transport dorchester was torpedoed for god and country the american legion was dedicated and those are the words we ve should ever live by it Is fitting that we of the american legion wiio wao have fought together in three wars should pray together and implore the people of our nation to join in an appeal for divine guidance la in one of the dark hours of our nations history the need for a spiritual awakening of our people was never more clearly manifested than now with the world entangled in it a struggle between those who believe in god and fiefdom and those who believe in Col and slavery in recognition of 0 the supremacy ot of god lies the security ot of our na tion lion and the peace of mind of 0 its people we can prove our love ot of god and country by our everyday behavior and appreciation ot of the fact that despite the present darkness ot of tear fear in the world there Is divine guidance it if we e will but seek it we have a glorious heritage as citizens of america and children child chil dien en of god the american legion and auxiliary most fervently urge a spiritual call to arms anns a back to god and back to lo church movement whereby tte reby we ill all may be made more aware of the lie necessity for dally daily prayer and for divine guidance in these troubled times may these services be the beginning of a continuing movement of church attendance every sunday and a prayer every day the rather father of our country prayed at valley forge and in this same spirit our gibat nation was founded d |
