Mother and baby are doing nicely. Mrs. Luther Gale was admitted to the hospital Monday for medical treatment. Ruby Bone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Bone, underwent an appendicitis operation at the local hospital Sunday. She is doing as well as can be expected. A baby son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mitchell at the local hospital, Tuesday. Athenian Club Elect New Officers At the meeting of the club held last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. A. K. Chatfield new officers were elected to serve during the coming year. They will take office the last meeting of this term, which will be the first part of June. Mrs. Elmo Eddlngton was elected the new president of the club with Mrs. Lloyd B. Adamson. as vice president; Mrs. Edna Campbell ' The entertainment given by the Relief societies of Li'hi stake Tuesday Tues-day afternoon at 2 o'clock in the stake tabernacle proved to be a lovely affair. Two hundred and fifty women of the community were in attendance. The party was given in celebration celebra-tion of the 99th anniversary of the founding of the L. D. S. Relief society. so-ciety. The actual anniversary of the organization, which was founded found-ed March 17, 1842 by Joseph Smith to minister to the needs of the people peo-ple and build spirituality and In other ways provide development for members, came on Monday, but was celebrated here Tuesday. A splendid program was given, under the direction of Mrs. Edna Banks. The ' program was as follows: fol-lows: Prayer by Mrs. Mina Webb, community singing by the group, I led by Mrs. Edith Evans; birthday Athenian . greetings by the stake president, Mrs. Delia Fox; a piano selection by Miss Naomi Skinner, a one-act play, "All In a Day," under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Leota Peterson and Mrs. Olive Phillips. Junior Athenian Club Elect New Officers At their regular meeting last Thursday evening held at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Southwick, the Junior Athenian club elected new officers to serve during the coming year. Mrs. Winzell Swenson was elected president, Mrs. Lileth Peck, vice president, and Miss LaPriel Goodwin, secretary and treasurer. The new officers will not take office until the first meeting in September, but they were chosen now so that they will be able to attend the State Convention Con-vention of Women's Federated clubs, to be held in Nephl the last part of March. The outgoing officers are: Mrs. Lucile Rhodes, president; Miss Reva Goates, vice president, and Mrs. Ada Whipple, secretary. At the meeting Thursday evening a review of the book, "For Whom The Bells Toll" by Ernest Hem-mingway Hem-mingway was given by Mrs. Winzell Swenson, after which the hostess served dainty refreshments. In addition to the club members two guests, Mrs. Fay Manning and Mrs. Virginia Gurney, were present, Eddington, a vocal trio by Betty Jean Dorton, June Anderson and Donna Hadfield, a dance number, under the direction of Miss Vera Conder, a selection by the Bazoo band composed of members of the First ward in costume, a selection by a chorus composed of stake board members, an original poem, composed com-posed by Mrs. Edna Banks and read by Mrs. Hazel Dunsdon, and the closing prayer by Mrs. Olena Goodwin. Good-win. The community singing consisted con-sisted of original words written by Mrs. Victoria Stewart to the tunes of some of our hymns. Following the program those present pres-ent were entertained in the reception recep-tion room in the tabernacle basement. base-ment. A meeting of the Lehi Parent-Teachers Parent-Teachers association will be held next Wednesday evening, March 26 at 8 o'clock in the high school auditorium. audi-torium. A health moving picture will be shown and a lecture will be given. Music will be furnished by the Chantante chorus. The annual election of officers will take place. All parents of the community and others interested are cordially invited in-vited and urged to be in attendance. Lehi Legion Shooters Defeat Provo Lehi post No. 19, American Rifle club defeated the Provo post No. 13 at a shoot in the Provo armory Fri day night, 923 to 919. W. Woffinden of Lehi was the high Individual scorer scor-er with 191, followed by Pat Stewart of Provo, with a 190 and Roger Price of Lehi with 189. The scoring was as follows: Lehi Keith Lott, 180; John Whipple, 183; Gordon Cedarstrom, 180; Roger Price, 189; W. Woffinden, 191. Provo Pat Stewart, 190; F. R. Newell, 183; Bill Rita, 187; H. Will Not Sponsor Tournament Tourna-ment Activities Principal Lloyd B. Adamson of the local high school has stated that since the Lehf team is not at the tournament this year, the school is not sponsoring any activities' at the tournament and if students go to the tournament they must be excused by their parents. A written excuse is necessary from their parents par-ents if they miss school to attend the tournament games. The school is not responsible in chaperoning any groups. In view of the fact of the heavy traffic on the roads, it is urged that parents who do excuse their children from school to attend the tournament, see that they are properly chaperoned. chaper-oned. Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Robinson of American Fork, which took place Monday in the Salt Lake temple. The young bride is a popular member mem-ber of the city's younger set, having hav-ing taken an active part in church and social affairs. She has been working with the city's recreation group for some time past, has been instructor in the Play school here and has taken an outstanding part in music circles throughout the community. Through these avenues she has won a host of friends, who join In wishing her much future happiness. Mr. Robinson recently returned from an L. D. S. mission to Brazil.
