Show SOCIETY NEWS , past week on a trip at Camp Tim-pan Tim-pan ogos. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. R E. Knudsen were guests of Dr. and Mrs. N"ophi Packard and Mr. and Mrs. Edward White during- the July 24 festivities festivi-ties at Ogden. Mrs. Rhuemia Weight with her son Dr. J. J. Weight Mrs'. Weight and her mother Mrs. L. E. Eg-gertsen Eg-gertsen spent several days of the past week in the canyons of southern south-ern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clyde and family spent several days of this week at Zion and Bryce canyons. Dr. and Mrs. Harold Finch and children of Laramie, Wyoming, have been visiting Mrs. Finch's mother Mrs. Eliza Thorn in this city. Announcement is made of the marriage last week of Miss Nettie Pierce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. June Pierce of this city, to Lynn H. Williams also of Springville, which took place at the home of the groom, with Bishop A. G. Peterson of the Third ward officiating Miss Mary Boyer entertained a group of friends at a canyon party Thursday and rviday evening, near Vivian park. The girls enjoyed en-joyed swimming and hiking to-Krther to-Krther with a delicious lunch and "put luck" supper. Guests included includ-ed Miss Hortense Crandall, Misses Gladys and Avis Thompson, Miss Lois Hjorth, Miss Ina Miner, Miss Elsie Mad.sen, Miss Coba Caffell, Miss Norma Harrison, Miss Cleon '' Enx, Miss Murion Miner, Miss" Har-i Har-i it-L Miner and Miss Jane Bagley. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Knudsen and lamlly k-lt Sunday morning for several days visit with Mrs. Knud-sen's Knud-sen's mother Mrs. John G. Parker and other relatives at Paris, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson and son Dick of Cedar City visited lie re Wednesday. Progressive Monte Carlo Whist featured the entertainment with high score prize won by Miss Luell Straw. Other guests present were Mrs. Annie Sumsion, Mrs. Milenda Sumsion, Mrs. Retta Sum-i Sum-i . sion, Mrs. Rea Straw, Mrs. Vivian - Sumsion, Mrs. Grace McKenzie, Mrs. Annie McKenzie, Mrs. Lois Cleyg, Mrs. Kmma Rowland, Mrs. Ora Rowland, Mrs. Floss Phillips, and Mrs. Jennie Careless of Salt Lake. In honor of her son, Lynn Williams Wil-liams and wife, the former Miss Nellie Pierce, Mrs. Wilda Dowdell entertained at a wedding reception recep-tion at her home Saturday night. A delicious supper carried out in an attractive color scheme of pink and white, was served to about fifty relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Packard and baby of Rock Springs, Wyo., visit- ' ed the past week-end with relatives rela-tives and friends here. Busard and1 children have returned from a delightful de-lightful month's vacation trip to the world's fair, Fort Madison, Iowa and other places of interest i in the east. j The Legion auxiliary will hold their regular meeting Wednesday 1 night .at Memorial hall. The East Bench 4-H Sewing I club held their sumer outing the I past week at the Rex Brown ranch in Hobble Creek canyon They were also guests of Mrs. Frank Naylor at a waffle breakfast break-fast during their stay. Swimming, hiking and games were also enjoyable en-joyable features. The club girls also held their regular . meeting Tuesday at the home of Miss Lucile Best, spending the time on the scrapbooks and in sewing. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Haydock'and children motored here from Al-hambra, Al-hambra, Calif., to visit the laters' mother, Mrs. Stella Wiron and grandmother, Mrs. T. T. Hatch. Mr. Haydock has returned to his home. Lavon Johnson of Pleasant Grove was a Springville visitor Sunday. Mrs. Roy Greener has returned to her home at Helper after a Sunday. Evans B..
