Lambs, 25. 50 of cattle offered for sale were good to choice feeders; some sold as carload lots. The market was strong on this kind of cattle. 25 choice heifers and heiferettes. Market was off on this kind. Cows were strong. All the seats in the auction barn were filled with buyers, sellers and coffee breakers. No choice steers offered. Good, $22. to $22.50. Holsteins, $17. to $19.30. Carload, $18.10. Feeders, $23. to $24.60. Carload of 700 lbs., $23.50. Choice heifers, $22.50 to $23.40. Good, $20. to $22. Heiferettes, $18. to $20. Holstein, $15.70 to $19.30. Feeders, $22.25 to $23.60. Cows, standard low choice, $15. to $17.40. Commercial, $13.85 to $14.75. Canners, $10. to $11.75. Dairy cows, $12.50 to $15.50. Top heifer today was a 900 lb. crossbreed fed by Blaine Theobald, of Hinckley, Utah, and purchased by Hatch's City Cafe, Delta, Utah, for $23.40. horses with one animal figured for each four hikers. Food for the trip will basically be dried, dehydrated, or an-hydrat-ed. The diet during the trek will be supplemented with fish from the many lakes of the wilderness area of the High Uintah Mts. Highlights of the trip are: fishing fish-ing in the higher lakes; climbing to the top of King Peak; camping skills; packing skills; exploring the wilderness, seeing game, and Explorer Ex-plorer fellowship. In order to sign up for the Explorer Ex-plorer Trek an Explorer post should send base fee of $2.50 for each hiker to : Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, P. O. Box 106, Provo, Utah. Balance of fee must be paid by June 15 to the council office. A bulletin giving details of the trek and suggested aids in preparation prepara-tion has been prepared and will be sent to expftrers and posts upon request. Teacher Training Scholarship Ends Filing March 15 The filing deadline for the Utah P-TA Teacher Training Scholarship is March 15. Mrs. Dorothy Damron, Director of Region X, urges all Senior students interested in majoring in education educa-tion to contact their Principal or Scholarship Committee and determine deter-mine if they are eligible. The Teacher Training Scholarship is awarded for the encouragement of more high school graduates to choose teaching as a career. It is an annual award of $200.00, beginning be-ginning this year, granted by the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers. Tea-chers. Each award is for one year, but a qualified student may re-apply until he has finished four years of college training in education. The student may select his own college if it is an accredited Utah institution. The Delta High School P-TA encourages en-courages all parents to recognize the worth of this scholarship and urges support of the scholarship fund. At the present time Miss Roberta Lovell, of Oak City, is attending school with the help of one of the scholarship and if eligible will be able to re-apply for $200 next year. Money for the Utah Scholarship Fund is provided by collecting 10 cents from each member in a local lo-cal organization, by voluntary contributions con-tributions and by accepted fund raising programs. See Reed Stewart, Hinckley, Utah. 319 Explorer Super-Activity Super-Activity Offered In High Uintahs Explorer Scouts will trek to King Peak, July 24-29. This date was announced an-nounced by the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, Amer-ica, as the time for this year's trek. The Uintah Wilderness Trek to King Peak, Utah's highest mountain moun-tain is held for adventurous Explorers Ex-plorers and posts who want something some-thing to challenge them. Open only to Explorers and their leaders, this will be the fourth year the Explorer Wilderness Trek has been held. Over 50 miles will be covered by the boys and leaders, with each hiker packing food and personal gear up to 25 lbs. Personal Person-al bedrolls, two-man tents, and other gear and food carried in the 25 lb. limit, will be put on pack Marines Offering School Seniors 120-Day-Delay Program The United States Marine Corps is now offering a special program to high school seniors, which allows al-lows them to enlist now, and delay de-lay their departure for recruit training train-ing until after they have been graduated, according to Captain B. C. Stinemetz, Officer in Charge of Marine recruiting for the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain area. Qualified young men and women enlisting under this program can Join now and remain at home for up to 120 days before beginning their training. During this time there are no meetings or training sessions to attend, but the time in service counts toward earlier pay raises and faster promotions. This time in service also counts toward a young man's military obligations. When young men enlisted in the program have been graduated from high school, they will undergo recruit re-cruit training at San Diego, Calif. Young women will be sent to Parris Island, S.C. for their Women Marine recruit training. Senior high school students may receive complete information about this 120-Day-Delay program by contacting their local Marine Corps recruiter at 428 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
