Show In the Daily News of January 27, 1896, 1 noticed an article written writ-ten by Redick V. Allred, telling of two more of our aged veterans and am very much pleased that this enquiry has started and hope the editor of the News will not consider it monotanous to keep up the publication in regard to them, as it is having the effect of spreading spread-ing a good deal of valuable information infor-mation to our old settlers in regard to where their friends are now living. By the bye, has not brother Allred made a mistake in spelling the name of "Samuel R. Aiken?" Should it not be spelled "Atkin?" If so, if he will be kind enough to address me a note to P. O. Box 533, St George, Utah, w may both be benefited; but we may have to give the laurels for old age: yet we had a brother Edson Barney, who moved from here some months ago, I think to Provo, who is about 90 and his wife ' a few months' his senior. I think they joined the church in 1831. Between them and brother Owens, now living - in Airzona, lies the laurels of the oldest , member in the Church. We say to all our old faithful brethren and sisters, may God bless and preserve you from pain and suffering, the remaining days of your probation here ' may be crowned with peace and pleasantness. pleasant-ness. Keep it up brethren. Tanick. |
