Show 8A Emery County Progress Castle Dale, Utah Tuesday April 20, 2004 102nd Weddings Gladys Nelson Sheena Barker Tosh Grant and Kim Lefler are announcing the marriage of their 'daughter Heather to Jeremy Clarke, son of Jack and Nannlvnn Clarke of Riverton, on April 22 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Two receptions will be held in their honor: April 23 from 8 Kevin 6-- p.m. at Oquirrh 1st LDS Church, 12830 South 2700 West, Riverton; April 24 from 8 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael, 06 North ! 100 East, Castle Dale. Heather has earned her associate of science degree from Snow 6-- College and is currently attending the Taylor Andrews Academy ;of Hair Design in Riverton. ; Jeremy served a mission in San Diego, Calif, and has attended the College of Eastern Utah. The newlyweds will make their home in West Jordan while work- Sheena and Tosh Billy have chosen to be married on April 24. Grandparents of the groom 9-- - Jolene Petty Missionary Recognitions JoAnn Arnold has published a new book entitled Miracles for Michael. Born in Price, Arnold was raised in Huntington and with her husband, raised four sons in Orangeville. She helped organize the Emery County Community Theatre and served as chairperson for 1 5 years. Her roles included directing many of the theatres musicals and had the lead in several others. Arnold wrote childrens musicals for local schools and several melodramas in conjunction with local celebrations. In 1995, she was asked by the museum board in Castle Dale to write a play centering around World War II to coincide with the Smithsonian Institutes exhibit commemorating the victory of that war. She wrote and produced Rosie the Riveter and a special edition article about the Elder Gundersen Jolene Petty started working 'at the Ferron Senior Center in 1979 as a cook. Ruth Duncan was the Center Director at the .lime. When Ruth retired, Jolene moved into her position. The built a new senior center county ' and they moved to the new building. Jolene has worked for the center for 24 years. She has enjoyed her work and all the wonderful seniors in the county. She is married to Gary Petty of Emery. They have three daughters, Cheryl, Michelle and Chris and nine grandchildren. 2-- JoAnn Arnold Retirement . Gladys Nelson is having her 102 birthday. She says its her second birthday. She was born in Manti April 26, 1902 to James Ormandy and Marianne Hansen Braithwaite. She married Bryant Andrew Nelson in 1921 in Manti. Gladys lives at the Turnquist Retreat where she enjoys associatingwlth the residents. Birthday Elder Kendall Gundersen has been called to serve in the Washington D.C. North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He is the son of Barton and Karla Gundersen of Huntington. Elder Gundersen will speak on April 25 in Huntington 3rd Ward at 9 a.m. in the Hunting-to- n Stake Center. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on April 28. play was featured in the Smithsonian. Arnold has also written childrens books and has ghost written two books. She resides in Santa Clara. There will be one at 9 a.m., one at 10 a.m. and one at 10:50 a.m. The public is welcome to attend. Books will be available for purchase at the assemblies. Nelson was bom in Logan. As a boy, he followed his father on fishing expeditions in Logan Canyon where Right Hand and Temple Forks enter the main stream. He attended college in California and Utah, eventually earning a bachelors degree in English and a masters degree in business (MBA). He spent two and a half years as a missionary for the LDS Church in Southern Germany. He was a public relations and advertising copywriter before his first book was published in 1979. Nelson is well known for his authentic research. He also took up roping while documenting the early cowboy life of Butch Cassidy.
