Show exchange club discusses Discuss ds next years yearns fair and race meet at a well attended meeting of the parowan carowan exchange club on monday night several different matters all pertaining to next years iron county fair were discussed with action taken to further some of these matters dates for such an event and permanent location of exhibition buildings were gone into during the meeting and the following action taken R L fenton announced that he and jasper cartwright had attended a meeting in richfield a day or two previous at which time a utah racing Aso association clation was tentatively formed at this meeting which was attended by representative from most of the cities which hold race meets tentative dates were set for 12 such meets next year mr fenton stated that he had requested consideration for two dates one of them early earls in august it if a fair is not held and one early in september if held in connection with a fair with a possibility of using both dates those at the exchange club meeting were of the opinion that the fair and race meet should be held to gether and that it would have to be held after sept 1 if the fair is to be successful A majority were doubtful if two successful meets could be held in one year that close together it was finally voted to hold the two together next year on the first weekend week end in september it if those dates could be had it was also decided that parowan carowan should take part and join with the racing bacini association if one is formed definitely the matter of establishing a permanent fair exhibition ground was discussed which brought up the problem of where it should be located some want it out at the race track grounds and others think that the present barp barb tart t la 19 g used for a Eucie nucleus Ulf for 0 such a place and be left where it it no one at ai the meeting knew the exact status of the ownership of that barn bam and ground so a committee was named to meet with those who are in charge of it and find out definitely this committee consists of john H pendleton H L adams and scott mitchell and they are to meet with those in charge now and report back at an early meeting they are also to find out if the th ground and barn can be purchased by the city or county so other improvements can be made there another committee was appointed by the chairman to meet with mr E B M house of the grazing service and fined out what will have to be done to keep the buildings now located at the race track here permanently anent ly this committee consists of wm win marsden phillip benson and marlo |
