Are you dreading the thought of returning to the routine of just another quarter? Dont , V -- I Despair; spring quarter has something to offer you that you wont get at any other college, at any other time... Beginning on April 10th, and going through the 16th, Dixie College will be experiencing a major party all week, as stated by Jason Wells, Chairactivities. The man of theme this year is Catch Jason, along with his 40 or so committee members, has been planning this once-a-ye- if ,r ' 4 Remnants of apartment A-- 6 at the Wedge are left to cool after tragic fire. thats Now Monday February 22, 1988 one of the Wedge apartment complexes caught fire. The five students living in number A-- 6 had used their barbecuer earlier the same day and had unknowingly placed hot coals in a cardboard box. The coals were dumped into a cardboard box full of ashes. The person dumping them didnt think they were hot, but I guess they were. stated Brad Fulmer, one of the occupants of A-Darrin Kroff had a second degree burn on his hand, but no one else was injured. Darrin had fallen asleep on the couch and was not a resident of the apartment. According to Brad Fulmer, We had to shake him to wake him up. Appaiently, the inhalation of the smoke had placed him in a deeper sleep than what he normally would have been. 6. The residents lost alot Muor-ln-Chi- eJ because they left the apartment thinking the fire department would be there soon. I didnt think of grabbing anything because I figured the fire department would be there within five minutes, and as it was they didnt show up for twenty five minutes. remarked Fulmer. The occupants of the Wedge complex do not have insurance coverage. According to Brad, after talking to Mayor Brooks the only way the students were covered is if they had renters insurance. Games Night on Friday in the Burns Arena will host all kinds of entertainment. Along with all sorts of Vegas games, there will also be carnival games and a huge stomp. There promises to besomething for everyone at this event. But wait... theres more along comes Saturday morning. The word then came down from the theaters head office in Salt Lake that if these kinds of problems were occuring to just shut them (late movies) down. When asked if the conditions have improved since the cancellation, Mr. Woodward replied I think the cancellation helped. I think having some people not there helped. I think the student body letting oth'1 don people know that they the of the ruining appreciate activities also helped. Mr. Woodward also explair ed that conditions have impro' ed and that the movies were m cancelled last week because h problems with the students, mo'if also stated that the late will continue after the el |
