Show robert muir 32 well known ot moab died at the local hospital early monday morning as the result of an attack of flu pneumonia mr muir bad been sick less than a week contracting the disease while looking after his sheep in the head of moab valley by the time medical attention could reach him his condition was alarming and he was moved at once to the hospital despite the best of care he grew steadily worse and death came early monday morning funeral services were held tuesday afternoon from the L D S chapel many friends being in attendance to pay their last respects to his memory the invocation was offered by D A johnson the speakers were C A robertson Bo P M shafer H W balsley and bishop W D hammond all of whom paid tribute to mr quiet and industrious habits and his many fine traits of character several hymns were rendered by the choir and the benediction was pronounced by loyd somerville at the cemetery a hymn was rendered by the choir and the dedicatory prayer offered by george A newell ti mr melr Is survived by his widow mrs verona murphy melr and children verona aged and E robert jr eed one he was born and raised in canada he was a naturalized citizen of the united states and saw active duty during the world war serving in france his company was almost wiped oat in one of the major battles of the american campaign he and one companion being the sole survivors mr melr cam to moab about six years ago and decided to go into the sheep business by dint of industry and perseverance he accumulated a small herd of sheep and when death so suddenly struck him down he was on the sure road to independence mr muir was well and favorably known throughout this section and his death has occasioned keen regret among a wide circle of friends the sincere sympathy of the community goes out to the youn gidow and children |
