Show T W burrows writes mr lee Bad don care of the park record park city utah dear lee I 1 know this will bo be a big surprise to you but nevertheless I 1 h have not forgotten dear old park city and th the many friends I 1 have there maybe you will be interested in knowing how I 1 was getting along we get the record occasionally and I 1 notice there has been several changes since I 1 was there I 1 am at present with the libby mcneill libby company and have a good lob job at present I 1 am foreman of the receiving department and I 1 like the packing game very well during the month ot of february we la belled and cased and shipped over thirty thousand cases of canned fruit to all parts ot of the civilized world in one shipment there was sixteen thousand cases ct cf canned apples going to england so you see wo we ship very heavy oregon Is a very good state and it has a lery promising future the town ot of klamath falls in the southern part of the state has nearly doubled its population in the last two years the warehouse ser lumber company has built one of their largest mills in this town and the lumber there Is all new timber that has never been touched timber enough to last a hundred years portland is ak k wonderful city and one only has to be there during the rose festival to realize this fact one of the most gorgeous things you ever saw the willamette river runs through the center of town and there are five draw bridges across the river arver when the steamers come up the river these bridges are raised by electricity to let them through enclosed you will find check tor for a years subscription to the record have you any idea where I 1 could obtain one or two ot of the elk half dollars that was coined about the time the elks convention was held in park city A friend of mine and I 1 want to get one ot of them do you suppose there Is anyone in park city that would have more than one that they would care to let go the people out here have never seen one and they are quite a novelty it if you can get one tor for me I 1 will appreciate it very much hoping that I 1 may hear from you in the future and that park city may continue to prosper as it has in the past I 1 remain yours sincerely T H BURROWS the dalles oregon march 20 1929 |
