Commissioner Moss said. By ROSELYN KIRK Water for Davis Park Golf Course concerned Davis County Commissioners last week, but they took no formal action to rectify the solution. Commissioner C.E. Moss said he will continue to meet with the directors from the HE ESTIMATED that it would cost about $3,000 for every green that is lost. The greens need to be watered up until snowfall, Mr. Boyce said. The county has worked through an arrangement at the Valley View Golf Course to pump water from a reservoir owned by Layton through six inch water pipe to the greens, but has not been able to work out a cooperative agreement with the Haight Creek Irrigation Company for the Davis County course. Haights Creek Irrigation Company to work out a water exchange. THE commission listened to two alternate pumping plans. One which would pipe water from a county owned well to the Davis Park Golf Course in Fruit Heights to supply additional water to the greens. The other plan calls for the county to set up a pumping station at a pond and pump directly to a pressure line on the golf course. COMMISSIONER the pump decided upon and the number of feet of pipe that will be necessary to pump the water from either the well or the pond. Commissioner Moss said he, along with golf course manager, Scott Boyce, will go over the figures again before a recommendation is made to the commission. THE DAVIS County Com-- ' mission approved the hiring of the four new deputies late last week at an estimated cost of about $22,000 to the county for the remainder of the year. They did not say whether the mill levy will be increased to pay the salaries of the men. Sheriff Lawrence said that nine new men will need to be added to the Sheriff's office next year to provide staff for the 18 paramedics that are proposed to be in the field in the county by the beginning of 1979. SHERIFF Lawrence told the commission that the paramedic vehicle is ready, except for two pieces of equipment that will be added to the vehicle this week. The four men, to be hired as deputies, will be selected from a roster of names. The roster is determined by 35-4- the scores of prospective employees who have taken written and physical tests administered by the Davis County Merit Board. An interview is also required to determine their position on the roster. SHERIFF Lawrence told the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Council that paramedic service to the south end of the county may have to be postponed six months since no paramedics class is scheduled at Weber State in the fall. SHERIFF Lawrence said that Weber State officials had confirmed that no paramedic classes were scheduled until Jan. 6. Dr. Richard Johns, administrator of the Utah State Board of Health, said another option would be to hire paramedics, who are already trained, to fill the slots. The EMS paramedic proposal, as approved by the Utah Paramedic Council, calls for a paramedic and an Emergency Medical Trainee (EMT) unit to be available on a 24 hour basis in the north end of the county, beginning Aug. 1. DR. JAN Freeman, chairman of the EMS Council and a member of the EMS man- power committee, said that physicians should have input into the men who were selected attend to the paramedic training program. Sheriff Lawrence said that anyone who is accepted should also be approved by the Davis County Merit Board. He said the revocation was the result of an audit of the company and violations of environmental health. Prior to Dr. Johns report, Chief A.O. CHIEF Archuleta did not say whether the cancellation of Ace Ambulance's license would cause him to change his mind about terminating the service with North Davis Ambulance. Dean Sessions, Clearfield Fire Department voted in opposition to the EMS proposal. Mr. Sessions reported to the council on his version of the handling of the accident case in Clinton. CHIEF Archuleta saiu his action was based on two cases, one where a patient was left in the police office in Clearfield while the am- THE MATTER of the rota- bulance responded to another call. Dr. Warden said the original reason for bringing North Davis Ambulance into the county was to provide Davis County with their own ambulance.
