Show OBITUARY NOTES STEPHEN WIT 1 AMS Emi lity emery county utah jan 11 1897 died january ath 1897 stephen williams formerly of ephraim sanpete born in devonshire england gland may 1890 1896 stephen williams was baptized into the church of jesus chr at of latter day salute in 1846 emigrated with his wife and family in the fall of 1853 came in the selling bailing vessel windermere captain dantel daniel carnes carnea being the manager t f the oame came across the plains with ox teams dr richards was captain of the company arriving in salt lake valley september 30 1864 lived in salt lake city until the ni move ove in 1867 when the saints were counseled to move south located in ephraim county went unflinchingly through all the per e er of the saints since that ofay day was a member of the high priests quorum for many years he was never known to complain of the trials and persecutions nor to find fault with the servants of the lord he and his wife moved to emery emery county utah in 1885 on account of his health as he was badly crippled with rheumatism which had also affected his brain and as aa most of his bin sons lived here he could be better oared cared for towards the end eed he suffered very much and the lord saw fit on january ath to release him and take him home to rest his poor crippled body he was buried in the emery cemetery on sunday january his rem remains ins were followed by a large cortege corteg of relatives and friends he be was in his year was father of ten sons and four daughters 72 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren all of those living are fait hf ua members in the church MRS ETTA WILLIAMS WILLIAM BARNES died at nephi juab county utah january 13 1897 of old age william barnes born at waverton haverton Wa verton cumberland Cumber laud county england july 5 1817 baptized into the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1841 emigrated to utah in 1854 was called to st george in the spring of 1865 to labor on the temple temp was called on OB a mission to england in 1879 where he labored in the manchester and the scottish conferences lived in st george until october 1895 when he moved to nephi with his daughter he leaves an aged wife and two daugh I 1 to mourn his loss he lived lived and dieda died a faithful latter day sant and in the hope of a glorious resurrection millennial star please copy ELIZABETH boyon at south cottonwood jan 17 1897 stater sinter elizabeth boyce relict ol of the late william boyce born jan 7 1882 in scotland she was the daughter ot of ralph and elizabeth max v A ell baptized july 12 1845 by james HOUN houston tOD she emigrated to utah in 1856 in daniel McArt Mc Arthura hurPs company and a hand oar all themay across the plains J a alus sister boyce was a consistent latter day saint a most devoted mother and was esteemed by all who knew her she leaves two sons and three daughters the funeral was held in the south cottonwood ward meeting house under the direction of counselor thos G wheeler jan 20 and was attended by a lar large 9 e num number berof of friends friend sand and relatives of a t the a deceased words of consolation were offered by elders samuel brinton alva butler ralph maxwell john labrum labrum henry brown and thomas A wheeler the grave was dedicated by elder james A taylor SAMUEL BRINTON |
