Cheney, 78, and his wife, Mrs. Lillie Alice Adams Howell Cheney, 81, of 2974 Adams, Ogden, who were in an automobile accident Saturday near Soda Springs, Idaho, were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel. Bishop David Doxey of the Ogden 26th LDS ward officiated. Killed Instantly Cheney was killed instantly and Mrs. Cheney died several hours after the accident. Cheney was born Jan. 8, 1893 in Clearview, Idaho, Nathan B. and Elizabeth Whitaker Cheney. He was married to Effie Stephenson of Jan. 8, 1913 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died March 3, 1960. He was a member of the Ogden 26th LDS ward and was a high priest at the time of his death. He had been active in the North Farmington LDS ward and was a former MIA superintendent and active in Boy Scouts for the past 17 years. a of son Dairyman-Salesma- n farmer and a real estate salesman. He formerly resided in North Farmington, Brigham City and in Ogden for the past 12 years. He is survived by one son, A. Steve Cheney, Layton; three grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Owen Cheney, Salt Lake City; Clayton Cheney, Logan; Mrs. J.Y. (Alta) Ferry, Brigham City; Mrs. Oralee Brooks, Yuba City, Calif. Burial was in the Brigham City Cemetery. He was a dairy Born In Idaho Mrs. Lillie Cheney was born Oct. 5, 1889 in Fairview, Idaho, a daughter of Joshua and Sarah Criddle Adams. She was married to William Parley Howell on April 8, 1909, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died In January, 1933. She had worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1957 after 15 years of service. She was a member of the Ogden 26th LDS ward and formerly served as Relief society president and secretary and YWMIA teacher. Surviving Mrs. Cheney are four sons, William Noel Howell, Ariz.; Cliff Howell, Preston, Idaho; Fonden P. Mesa, Howell, North Ogden; Thomas Keith Howell, Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren, 12 two sisters, Mrs. Laura Lewis, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Amanda Clark, Blackfoot, Idaho. Burial will be in Clifton, Idaho. Faye H. Hatch Mrs. Faye Hamson Hatch, Phoenix, Ariz., a native of Brigham City, died Sunday in a Phoenix hospital after an extended illness. Born Dec. 10, 1894 in Brigham City, she was a daughter of George F. and Olive Burbank Hamson. On Aug. 14, 1918, she was married to Eldred R. Hatch in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Ogden. He died April 15, 1969, at which time she moved to Phoenix,. the Ogden Ninth LDS ward where she was active in Primary and Relief society. Mark, who Is a student at USU was representing his school in the track competition in Idaho recently and broke two of the schools records. Their daughter Marva received the outstanding honor of being chosen from Box Elder High for the Sterling Scholar award in homemaking. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stacey are enjoying the excitement that their new baby daughter has brought to their family. Sunday they had her blessed and given the name Melanie Ruth. Here to share the happy day with them were Garys mother Mrs. Christina Stacey, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stacey and their four children of Bountiful. A large family dinner was enjoyed at the home of Barbaras parents. Other special guests were Rex and Sue Bingham and family of Bountiful, Mrs. Ivan Bingham and children, Mrs. Annette Utahs Betty Crocker Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Sparks were delighted with a houseful of company on Sunday. Their visiters were Boyce and Tess Sparks and their four children of Layton, Seth and Kary Sparks and son of Logan, and Scott and Kathy Tolman and tiny daughter. The refrigerator door never seemed to close and Bryan soon poured a case of his favorite soft drink down his guests. Lillywhite and children, B.A. Bingham, and Arch Munns of Elwood. Visiting in Honeyville last weekend was Ronny Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Nelson of Bountiful. Next Sunday evening Ronny will be honored at meeting before leaving for a mission in Germany. Student Wins Homemaker Title Homemaker of Tomorrow for 1971 is Kirsten Mortensen of Bear River high school. Her selection from 7,219 senior girls in 80 Utah high schools was announced by General Mills, sponsor of the annual educational program, the Betty Crocker Search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow. She will receive a $1,500 college scholarship and is now eligible for national honors. Kirsten Mortenson, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Roy K. Mortenson, 576 North Tremont St., Tremonton. Well, thats how some of the friends of Doris and Jerry Malm felt. A very nice surprise party was given for them last Wednesday evening. The party was given by Karen Thorsted and Ellen Tolman and was held at the Tolman home. Those gathered for the potluck dinner were Karen and Lloyd Thorsted, Ellen Tolman, Letty Tolman, Kathy Tolman, Ila Rae Burt, Paul and Carma Spackman, Elaine and Abe Garcia, Marquretta and D. Frank Tolman, MarRue and Bryan Sparks, and of course the guests of honor. The group presented them with a very nice book as a going-awapresent. Jerry left for Denver on Saturday, and Doris will be leaving at a later date. Scott Tolman recently returned from a trip to Moline, 111. where he went with a group from the Agriculture Technology college at USU. Eighteen students and two advisers went on the tour to visit factories where farm machinery is made. They were taken through the John Deere Foundry, the combine factory and also the plow works and bolt factory. Next they toured the International Harvestor Saturday Margaret Goodbys are something no one likes, but if they must be Waterloo, Iowa, where they toured the John Deere tractor works. Lincoln, Neb. was their next stop. Here they were able to go through the Goodyear factory. They also saw the Nebraska test site there. Next they stopped in Grande Island, Neb., were they were taken through the New Holland plant.
