Show SUITABLE MEMORIAL FOR LATE GEN. P. E. CONNOR Editor of The Tribune: As Captain of the P. Edward Connor Camp of Sons of Veterans, I feel most keenly the failures of tho citizens of this city, and especially of our patriotic societies, to carry forward for-ward to success tho erection of a suitable suita-ble memorial to tho memory of the general gen-eral of the U. S. army, whoso name our camp bears. Many of our public spirited spir-ited citizens and G A. R. men and many ladies associated with the latter In pa- triotic work would llko to see this work started and completed. The editorial from your pen, recently published In The Tribune, Is timely, and ought to arouse action In regard to this long delayed matter. That the ball may be kept rolling, I suggest that a public meeting be soon called, at some central point, of all citizens, G. A. R. veterans. Sons of Veterans, and the ladles of our patriotic societies and clubs, who are in sympathy with this thought, for the purpose pur-pose of organizing tho General P. Edward Ed-ward Connor Memorial Association. With our representative citizens at Its head, as its proper officers, and with such com- mittee or committees as shall have executive ex-ecutive management of tho details, necessary nec-essary in carrying out this recognition of tho eminent services of Ohls soldier in the lntermountain region. H. H. KINSMAN. Captain and Patriotic Instructor, Colorado Colo-rado Division, Sons of Veterans. Salt Lake City, Nov. 24. |
