M. when the strong Payson team tangles wit hthe local aggregation at the Fairgrounds park. At the present time, Nephi and Payson are tied for op spot in the league with two wins and no losses. Therefore, the winner of the game here on Sunday afternoon will take over the undisputed possession of the league lead. This all adds up to a for the opening game at Nephi. The Nephi club is comprised of about the same boys that made up the 1947 Levan Tournament Champions, with a few bolstering additions. The local crew is off to a fine start in its first two games, both being played away from home. Last Sunday the local team traveled to Helper to meet the favored Coors team and fought its way to an 6 upset victory. And on Wednesday afternoon Nephi met the Eureka entrant at Eureka and came home with a 1 victory in a slugfest. In the meantime, the Payson team was winning both ball games and will come to Nephi Sunday afternoon boasting a record of two wins and no losses and a tie with Nephi for top spot.
