Editor and Manager Associate Editor A. B. GIBSON, ROY E. GIBSON to-w- lt: w Nephi Plaster The Value of Farm In these hard times the necessity and value of agricultural cooperatives have been proven time and again. The farmer who belongs to the cooperative, has, in many instances, received a good deal better price than the farmer who has done business independently. This Is especially true in the case of the dairy industry. Statistics concerning the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association a pioneer in the field and' other similar organizations, show that, while milk prices are generally low, their members have a steady market at higher than average prices. The principle of cooperation is the most important economic step for agriculaure in many generations. It has been given santion by practically all Interested public officials and farm leaders as beng the solution to profitless prices and shifting markets. It is permanent and it is sound 'something that cannot always be said for various government relief measures. It is a means of giving the farmer suficient bargaining power to meet the organized retail industry, with it's great buying power, on fair terms. And the farmer should have learned this that cooperation can only be sucessful if it is carried on all the timewhether conditions are good or bad. He may not like to pay his dues when he sees no need for it but in the long run he will get them back a hundred imes over. If the farmers refuse to cooperate when the prices are high, they have only themselves comes. to blame if they face bankruptcy when the down-tur- n ABG Achievements In Safety. In spite of the terrible rise in automobile injuries and fatalities, there is a bright side to the accident problem. The organized safety movement which was twenty years old recently "points with pride" to such achievements as these: A steady decrease in accidental deaths to children since 1922, when school safety work was inaugrated on a national scale. During this time accidental adult deaths have increased 38 per cent. A decrease of at least 30 per cent in fatal industrial accidents in the past 20 years. A decrease of 28 per cent In the accident rates of 1600 industrial establishments reporting to the National Safety Council. . A decrease of 19 per cent in accidents involving drivers of trucks, buses and taxicabs in four years. During this time private passenger cars involved in accidents have increased 37 per cent. This is fine fruit and safety workers are to be congratulated. Their main problem now is to find some means of checking accidents on the highways and in homes in the latter, deaths occur each year. They are working in the face of great difficulties in this difficulties that can only be removed by individual realization of the fundamentals of accident prevention. 30-0- 00 THANKSGIVING coming just around the corThanksgiving Are you going to be able now. ner from us thanks for a good financitl rating? to offer up able to if you have made a habit You will be of saving and depositing in this bank. is J Ord&Mangelson Local Social I IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO START NOW.
