the Community LINKS program for helping toorgamzeand this e' ent putting in coordinate manv long and thankless hours Manv others involved with "Kids a and Cops" agreed that JoAnn community activist is efrarely thianked for her selfless forts The idea for this enture was first mentioned to LINKS council members by Snow College Security Director Bob Wright who had spoken to representatives after the store opened in Ephraim several stores had esmonths ago tablished a similar program a number of years ago and Wright knew there was a great need for many families in Sanpete County for assistance at Christmas He and the Ephraim City Chief of Ron Rasmussen worked Police with LINKS and with law enforcement officers from every branch in the State of Utah to try to start a similar program in time for this 's offers of year's holiday assistance continued to grow as more and more people throughout the community began to contribute resources and volunteer time The main store elected Ephraim's to donate a portion of a day's profits to "Kids and Cops" which boosted the amount they wrere able match McDonald's Restaurant of Ephraim donated a light breakfast to the children and their new police adfriends for the morning of their venture the Ephraim Rotary Lion's Club Chamber of Commerce and other service organizations donated sizeable checks and local schools competed in a "quarter program"
