Show saints to be faithful in keeping the commandments of God, Sun ilay Services. At Jt. George Tabernacle. Sunday, June 26, 1896. Elder Horatio Pickett was the first speaker. Said in coming to meeting he felt refreshed and knew it is a duty accompanied with promise, prom-ise, and if we will come to meeting and partake of the sacrament and perform our duty, God will bless us. Spoke of the neglect of many who claim to be saints, in not coming to these meetings. Sometimes there are duties some of us have to per- form and consequently we are excusable. ex-cusable. He asked the blessing of God upon the people. Walter Adams, who has just returned re-turned from the University of Utah, where he has been for 9 months, said he was really pleased to be back once more in his Dixie home and felt proud to know he is a son of Dixie, as he loves this people and his associations with the people of the south. While away he had looked with pleasure to his home among this people. Had found no superior people in any place he had been and had found but few equals. He desired to live in a way that he will be a credit to his parents, and live in a way that I shall merit the blessings of my heavenly father. ( Prest, A. V. Ivins read the prom- ( ise and covenant made to Abraham showing that he was favored of the Lord, and that God made many and j great promises to him. While some of the promises, to the human eye looked unreasonable, yet God caused them to come to pass literally, liter-ally, in every respect. Also showed that the Lord in all ages had fulfilled ful-filled thegprophecies of his servants, and that although the seed of Abraham Abra-ham have been scattered from the land that God gave to him andjj his seed for aneverlasting inheritance. . Yet God will, in the last days, gather them again in the land of their fathers fath-ers and he will cause the land to yield abundance of the good things of the earth for the sustenance of his people . Also showed very plainly plain-ly that this, the continent of America according to the scriptures, should be a gathering place for the sons .and daughters of Ephraim and . Meonasrsa, and that the house of the Lord should be built in the tops of the monntains in the latter-days and that this prophecy is being literally fulfilled and that a large majority of this people are the decendants of the tribe of Ephraim.
