BARMTT'S by Ted Barratt W W Owner The Other Kind Of Saw While most homeowners quickly identify their need for a wood saw or a circular saw in their home shops, many do not purchase a hacksaw until con fronted with their moment of need. This largely overlooked tool is one of the most efficient tools a homeowner can own. It is capable of cutting any material, though it is most often associated with cutting metal. Generally speaking, the thicker the metal, the coarser the teeth of the hacksaw blade should be to cut it All blades should specify the material they are designed to cut and should be mounted in the frame with the teeth slanting forward. When cutting, apply pressure to the frame with both hands on the forward (cutting) stroke and little pressure on the backward stroke. Also, make sure the blades are rigid (but not overly taut) by tightening the wing nut. know that here at Barratt Builders Supply they can depend on finding all the tools and other supplies they need to properly complete just about any project.
