Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, January 14, 1965 Down Yawnder (Cont'nued from front page) port the education bill and give a resounding "NO" to the welfare bill!! I further hope that a lot of the education appropriation is earmarked ear-marked for Vocational Training on the secondary level. There are some other "pet" subjects sub-jects of mine that I hope the Legislature Leg-islature and Governor Rampton will be able to do something about. I hope that Pro-Utah and The Pub licity Council are consolidated. Whv the duplication? From where I sit it seems a complete waste of mo ney to support two such organiza tions. Let the Publicity Council ab sorb Pro-Utah. Heretofore the Pub licity Council has more or less concentrated con-centrated its efforts on tourism. By one directive, this could be changed to Include attracting new industries to the state. James Cannon and his staff could easily do this!! Furthermore, its ridiculous. I haven't forgotten Governor Rampton's campaign speeches. He not only dedicated himself to bettering bet-tering Utah schools, he dedicated himself to doing something about the "crop" of state agencies. With the recent announcement that the State is beginning 1965 with a $7,000,000 deficit, someone had jolly well bet'er be doing some "Hatchet" work. This can be the year. Senator Waddingham and Rep. Monroe to stand up tall and say "No. No, No." Do it! II I HIM KLi; SHARON S. WESTERN The Ward Budget and Bake Sale will be Jan. 21 instead of the 14th. The show will be "Tonka". West Desert ROUNDUP ESLA ENID STOPP it has been windy in Snake Valley Val-ley this week. Many of us have complained about the wind; but there are others who have quite enjoyed it. Have you ever went for a walk when the wind was biowing? One can think things out for themselves. The playful wind ruffles your hair and it makes one feel free as the days of their youth. One may see a little bunny running for shelter behind a bush to keep from the wind's cold blast. Sometimes Some-times in the background if one lis tens careful enough he might hear the sound of the neighbor's creaky gate. A walk in the wind is worthwhile worth-while even if it is maybe a short one. Visitors in the Jim and George Layland homes were Mr. and Mrs. Don Layland and family of Provo. Dr. George Rice is at home after spending the holidays in Arizona. Mrs. Rice will remain there until her father recovers from an illness. The Fish Springs Refuge has let off several of their temporary work ers, among them were Leonard Parker, Pleasant Valley; Dale Adam, Ad-am, Trout Creek, and Charles Timm of Callao. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Tripp, Delori Schlappi, Dorcey Sabey and Bruce Byler were Delta visitors this week. The Callao School carnival was held Wednesday and a good crowd turned out. The generous Delta merchants contributed to our sue-, cess. Tuesday night the community en joyed the movie "The Courage of Black Beauty" shown at the Callao-Trout Callao-Trout Creek Branch.
