Show FUNERAL OF DAVID JAMES WILL WILLBE WILLBE WILLBE BE HELD TOMORROW AFTERNOON r I Ik IS II Iv k I I I v S 5 S S fr I Ni DAVID JAMES Old Resident of Salt Lake Who Died Early Saturday Morning The funeral of at the late David James will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 from tram the ward meeting house The casket will be open at the residence West Wrest Fifth North street tomorrow from 11 until 2 David James died at yester yesterday yesterday ester day da morning at his home borne from Brights disease from which he had bad been a suf nut sufferer ferer for several years Mr Jaries was wasa a pioneer Utah business man and had been connected with several business en enterprises enterprises enterprises in Salt i Lake and Cache Cach coun counties counties counties ties Mr James was born in Shrewsbury Eng Nov XO 5 1832 When hen he was but 11 years old he began to learn the plumbing and business which was his hi occupation the greater part of or his life lire He was an expert at 16 and at 20 was superintendent of gas meters for tor Shrewsbury He came to America and engaged in farming and later built and operated several saw mills He was also interested In mining to some extent For several years ea he made his home at Draper where e he ho became a bishop In the Mormon church At the advice of President Brigham Young Mr James came to Salt Lake at the time that a gas plant was first started He opened a plumbing and gas fitting business In Salt Lake at that time and continued It for several years Mr James was superintendent of construction of oC the first sewers installed in Salt Lake For the last seventeen years he has owned and operated a large lead pipe factory the only one In the state Mr 11 James was especially well known in Cache Cuche county where he always retained some of at his business interests One of the largest and highest peaks in Cache county count Mount James Jame was named for him by the residents of oC that county Mr James Is survived by b five fhe sons David W Y Henry Henty C and Parley Parle G 0 James of ot Salt Lake and John ana ann Rob Robert Robert Robert ert James of ot Paradise Utah and seven daughters Mrs Samuel Obray Mrs J 3 JC JC C Woods Mrs Irs James N Lambert Mrs John H IL Glenn and Mabel and Kate James of at Salt Lake and Mrs Irs stark Mark Spencer of ot Cardston Alberta Canada |
