Show TEN PIN TAPS by Al Ablett The bowling season has ended at the club for the A league and what a year it has been. I would say that there has been about fifty per cent more bowling this year than ever before. In the A league the team of George Sluga, Bill Ablett, George Pollock and Peter Padgen won going away. In the B league on Wednesday they have finished their regular schedule and are now holding their round robin. Cash Grav is in front with one more week to go. High man last week was Donald Throckmorton who shot a 693 from scratch with his 14.-1 spot gave him a big 837. One more like that and he will be hard to stop. In the State Lanes Spring Handicap, John (Blackie) XaUen was the big gun. John finiihed second in the singles and he paired up with John Pavich to win the doubles. Just to show that it was not luck. John went over to the Pal-D-Mar and in their big Spring Handicap he had a good ten hundred for it3 five games. He shoots in the Ritz Classic this week and hope the guy stays hot. A number of other Bingham ! keglers finished in the money 1 at the State Lanes. You know these alleys are owned bv a former Bingham boy, Pete Vano. Next week the fellows will be starting their trek to the big one in Seattle. The Utah Motor Club has Bill Ablett, Frank Zaccaiia and mvself as members. We leave on . the 28th. The others from Bingham are Ken Chestnut, Chest-nut, Mickey Callisto, John Kal-len Kal-len and Gus Katis. They leave at the same time. I This week end finds the one and only Ritz Classic and the j Pal-D-Mar Spring Handicap on the boards. These are two of the biggest tournaments in the west. Every high average bowler in the western states takes these two in, so if you want to see the cream, don't miss these tournaments tourna-ments Saturday and Sunday. So next week will write you from 'the ABC, |
