Show Alpine Students To Perform At Square Dance Festival Members of last year's sixth grade at the Alpine Elementary School wiil perform at the International Inter-national Square Dance festival in Salt Lake City this weekend according to their teacher, Wayne McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel said the 36 students stu-dents have been asked to perform per-form for 30 minutes at the festi-' val. They will present dances that they learned in school last year. Earl A. Beck of Pleasant Grove will serve as caller for the group. r 5 ( ! MERLIN WILKINSON Receives Doty to God oword. M. Wilkinson Receives Duty To God Award Merlin Wilkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay C. Wilkinson, Jr., received his Duty to God award recently at the American Fork LDS Twelfth Ward. The award was presented by Bishop Harold Holley. Merlin is active in his ward priesthood and scouting activities activi-ties and has received the Eagle rank in scouting. A Junior at American Fork High School this fall, he lists sports as his favorite interest and football as his favorite sport. He played fullback on the sophomore football team at the high school after having been a member of a Little League football foot-ball team for three years. He was also a member of the high school track team, and a member mem-ber fo the Twelfth Ward Venturer Ven-turer basketball team that took the state championship. He served as Sophomore class president during the 1972-73 school year. "He needs his front teeth removed and a shot to take care of some infection he's picked up. and a good bath" Elsa said, but other than that he's the same lovable animal. Punkey disappeared a year ago last Christmas. His owners searched for him for weeks before be-fore finally giving up hope. He was special to the Terry family. Elsa had a pet cat when she was a teenager. After she married Dennis and they returned retur-ned home from their honeymoon they fell in Icve with a baby kitten Elsa's pet had sired. They took the kitten home, named him Punkey, and all was well for over three years. He was such a beautiful cat, they are sure he was stolen and just found his way home.
