Show SOUTH UTAH PROMISED GAS El Paso Natural Gas Co. will make natural gas available to southern Utah communities if a proposed pipeline is constructed across Utah. This was the assurance given in Washington to a Utah delegation headed by Dr. P. L. Jones, former mayor of Nephi and president of Natural Gas Company of Southern Utah. Dr. Jones said his firm was permitted per-mitted to intervene at the Federal Power Commission hearings as a result of the "timely efforts" of Senators Frank E. Moss and Wallace Wal-lace F. Bennett of Utah. He quoted Mr. Boyd as saying it was the desire of El Paso to serve the people of southern Utah and that the concern intended to do so. Mr. Boyd added, however, Dr. Jones said, that El Paso was not in a position at this time to determine deter-mine the exact route of the main pipeline, but would build laterals, at El Paso's expense, to every community com-munity in central and southern Utah where it is economically feasible. Mr. Boyd also disclosed to the Utah delegation that three routes were under consideration, but the most feasible one would not be determined de-termined until engineers had a chance to examine the terrain. |
